Great mornings start with the heavenly aroma of coffee, and I believe many people could relate to that. On a typical Jakartan’s day, coffee plays an integral role; it kickstarts our day and carries us through lunch. There is something about a good cup’s aroma, taste, and warmth.

And, if you are like me, working in an office building, you might have more than one brand of coffee in your building. So every morning when I arrive at the office, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee always lifts me.

Without a doubt, we all know that Indonesia has a deeply rooted coffee culture. From starling (Starbucks keliling) and roadside coffee shops to trendy coffee shops, it’s never empty of customers. The enthusiasm of the coffee people never seems to subside. New coffee innovations and recipes keep popping up, inviting more and more coffee lovers.

To celebrate International Coffee Day on October 1st, we have rounded up some of Jakarta’s best cups of coffee to get you going.
