Sugar & Spice at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is introducing a new chapter to its Sunday Brunch with The Coastal Atelier, a dining experience centered on seafood, premium ingredients, and tableside presentations inspired by French, Indonesian, and Scandinavian culinary traditions.
Launching on Sunday, August 23, 2026, The Coastal Atelier expands the restaurant’s regular Sunday Brunch with a selection of new dishes and interactive dining elements. The concept brings together influences from land and sea, from French classics and Indonesian flavors to the open-faced sandwiches traditionally associated with Scandinavia.
The experience begins with a selection of pass-around canapés, including Herbs Escargot, baked with herb butter, and Lobster Thermidor, featuring lobster served with a Cognac and Gruyère cream and finished with a gratinéed top.
One of the afternoon’s tableside highlights is the Gueridon Service, where chefs prepare Mangut Cod Fish with Coconut Smoke. Inspired by Indonesian mangut, the dish combines cod with a coconut curry and is presented beneath a glass cloche filled with coconut smoke. When lifted at the table, the presentation releases the aroma of toasted coconut before the dish is served.
The brunch also introduces a Premium Open-Faced Sandwich Tray, drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian tradition of smørrebrød. Prepared and assembled à la minute at the table, guests can choose from three variations: Maine Lobster with lobster bisque aioli on artisan brioche, Hokkaido Scallop with white truffle remoulade on sourdough, and Wagyu Beef Tataki with yuzu kosho aioli on multigrain bread.
A selection of three mocktails accompanies the experience, with Azure Citrus, Tide & Green, and Golden Shore designed to complement the brunch’s seafood and other dishes.
With The Coastal Atelier, Sugar & Spice adds a more curated and interactive layer to its Sunday Brunch, bringing tableside service and new signature dishes to the restaurant’s weekly dining experience.
