Burger & Lobster has officially opened its first Indonesian outpost at Plaza Indonesia, marking the London-born brand’s entry into Jakarta’s dining scene. The opening introduces Burger & Lobster’s signature focus on wild-caught Atlantic lobster and prime-cut beef burgers to Central Jakarta, following the brand’s expansion across cities including London, New York, Bangkok, and Doha.

Founded in London in 2011, Burger & Lobster began with a deliberately narrow menu built around a small number of core dishes. That philosophy—prioritising a few ingredients executed with consistency—shaped the brand’s early success and remains central to its identity as it expands into new markets. Jakarta becomes the brand’s 18th global location.

The Jakarta restaurant brings the brand’s established menu to Indonesia while introducing locally inspired additions. Among them is the Chilli Bumbu Lobster, which pairs Atlantic lobster with a sweet-and-sour spicy sauce served alongside garlic butter rice, reflecting an adaptation to local flavour preferences without departing from the brand’s core ingredients.

Located in the heart of the city’s retail and lifestyle district, the Plaza Indonesia outlet seats 114 guests across a mix of booths, dining tables, and bar seating. The space is designed to shift in atmosphere from casual and open near the entrance to more intimate zones deeper inside, culminating at a central bar area intended for livelier evening dining. DJs are scheduled on Friday and Saturday nights, reinforcing the restaurant’s transition from daytime dining to late-night energy.

Design elements include the brand’s signature red leather seating and blue tile accents, alongside a large handcrafted lobster sculpture by Malaysian artist Nizam Abdullah, commissioned as a visual centrepiece. For the first time globally, high tables are positioned directly beside the kitchen pass, offering diners a closer view of kitchen operations.

The menu centres on Burger & Lobster’s core dishes such as the Classic Whole Lobster, Lobster Roll, Mayfair Burger, and Beast Burger, alongside items including hanging tender steak and lobster-based burger variations. Starters and desserts round out the offering, while the entire menu is prepared without pork, lard, or alcohol to meet halal requirements in Indonesia.

With its Jakarta debut, Burger & Lobster adds another international name to the city’s dining landscape, positioning itself within the premium casual segment while maintaining a tightly focused menu built around land-and-sea staples.
