The Lunar New Year at The Langham, Jakarta unfolds through food that carries meaning and tradition. At the centre of the celebration is T’ang Court, the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, where the menu is built as a journey through dishes that balance heritage with refinement.
The Imperial Set Menu begins with Prosperity Salmon and Abalone Yu Sheng, a dish tossed together to welcome luck and success. From there, the courses move gently into Braised Bird’s Nest with Crab Meat in Truffle Chicken Broth, a soup that feels both delicate and rich. The flow continues with abalone and fish maw in sacha sauce, lobster paired with cheese in superior sauce, and star grouper steamed with yellow pepper. Cantonese-style Roasted Duck appears as a familiar anchor, grounding the menu in comfort and tradition.
A centrepiece of the season is “Poon Choi,” a layered dish meant for sharing. Sea cucumber, scallop, dried oyster, shiitake mushroom, and angel hair “fat choy” come together in one pot, symbolising unity and abundance. The menu closes with fried organic red rice with prawn and preserved vegetables in X.O. sauce, before moving into desserts of taro purée and mini egg tart, a gentle finish to a festive table.
The celebration extends beyond the restaurant. T’ang Court has introduced Henny Tea 2.0, a seasonal take on its Hennessy-infused tea, while hampers filled with festive delicacies are offered for gifting. For those who prefer to celebrate at home, takeaway specials include the restaurant’s roasted duck and Prosperity Yu Sheng.
Adding another layer to the season, Hennessy has unveiled its Year of the Horse Limited Edition Collection. The bottles are decorated in copper tones and deep pigments against a flowing red design, with a horse motif that captures energy and movement. Together, the menus, hampers, and special editions create a celebration that feels complete, weaving food, tradition, and artistry into one continuous flow.
