Sentosa Senayan
As one of the well-known seafood destinations originating from West Jakarta, the name ‘Sentosa’ is certainly no stranger to the city’s seafood lovers. Recently, they opened a new branch in the South, located on the 4th floor of the GBK Senayan Modern Parking Building, with a more spacious and upscale space designed by the renowned Andramatin Architects. Here, guests can expect a live-seafood dining experience, where they can select fresh seafood to be enjoyed at the table, all while taking in the beautiful Senayan or SCBD city view. Some must-haves include the luxurious Sentosa Fried Lobster, as well as a range of fresh crab and mantis shrimp dishes.

Best Batch
If you’re one of those people who like to hunt good food on the internet, chance is you already heard of ‘Best Batch‘ before. Starting from an online business that sells cookies, pastries, and signature chiffon cakes, Best Batch has now expanded by opening a brick-and-mortar store in Bintaro. Other than their vast range of beloved baked goods, you can also enjoy a variety of Asian-Western dishes to fill the stomach here, like their chic Samyang Chicken Rice Bowl or the delicious Truffle Mushroom Pasta. The minimalist yet modern cafe is dominated by all white and grey, making the space perfect for comfortably chatting with friends or peacefully working remotely.

Pot Boy Aru
When you visit the latest compound-space destination, Row 9 in Melawai, check out one of their newly opened food joints, ‘Pot Boy Aru.’ They are open from 5 PM until late at night, with the menu spotlighting several exciting dishes with bold Asian flavors. For one, you can have a BDSM (Brined, Deboned, Soy Milk-Battered Chicken) Fried Chicken here, which is a rendition of New York restaurant, Wenwen‘s signature dish titled the same. The Korean-inspired lettuce wrap, or Ssam, is also a must-try. The dish comes with a 48-hour sous-vide beef belly and all the classic fixings, including perilla leaf, kimchi, and sticky soy tare (dipping sauce).

Lucky Chin’s
Often find yourself drooling over the late-night Chinese takeout that appears in Hollywood movies? Now with Lucky Chin’s, you can get a taste of such experience, but made with locally sourced quality ingredients. Located inside the ROW 9 compound space (near the Blok M MRT station), Lucky Chin’s offers convenient and affordable American-Chinese food with a takeout concept served in three types of set meals: Double Chin, Triple Chin, and Dynasty Chin. With the set meal, you can choose a main and sides from ten different classic American-Chinese dishes such as Orange Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and many more. Vegetable dishes are also available, ranging from Veggie Delight to the heart-warming Tofu Eggplant.

Fried Club
Another exciting new food joint, The Fried Club, has debuted at the Grand Wijaya Center! Located on the second floor, its eye-catching pink signage looks striking between the line of shophouses and offices, while the place itself is beaming with a colorful rustic ambiance. As the name suggests, The Fried Club offers fast food-style dishes mainly with fried components. Starting from their starters, you can expect classics like homemade golden chicken nuggets, onion rings, and potato wedges, while the mains include fried chicken, rice bowls, and sandwiches–most of them also still heavy on the fried side. Be sure to grab a bottle of soda or milkshake while you’re there, and immerse yourself in the nostalgic memories of simple and comfort food.

SILO Jakarta
Coming from the same group as the Sir Loin steak house, SILO Jakarta sits directly above it in the Bumi street at Blok M area. The new restaurant hails a Modern Japanese Grill concept, welcoming customers with lavish contemporary Japanese-inspired décor even from the moment they step inside. In SILO, you can partake in the unique pairing of the Japanese grill’s simplicity with elevated dining concepts and aesthetics. The chef here will directly cook the steak at the customer’s table, giving guests personalized experiences like no other. Like Sir Loin, SILO offers the highest quality steaks, from chateaubriand (the 600+ days grain-fed A5 tenderloin from Kagoshima, Japan) to Misuji, the Japanese A5 Oyster Blade from Miyazaki, Japan.

Sumi to Kome
Still in the Blok M Area, Sumi To Kome piqued the curiosity with its giant black container shape from the outside. The new restaurant delivers modern Japanese cuisine and a wide range of sake and spirit to pair with. Just like the authentic, industrial-inspired Japanese ambiance that this restaurant exudes, the ingredients that are used in Sumi To Kome are also flown fresh from Japan. From Yakitori to the signature Grilled Saba Fish, these straightforward, quality Japanese dishes will warm the belly and comfort you until the last bite. With chef Tsuyoshi Saeki leading the kitchen, you can opt for an Omakase set for a one-of-a-kind experience specially prepared by him.

274 (Two Seven Four) Street
With 274 Street, you can now visit a slice of dreamy Melbourne in the Kemang area. Inspired by brunch spots popular in Melbourne, 274 Street’s interior is clean and minimalist, using a grey wall to create an industrial look commonly found in Melbourne’s cafes. From breakfast, lunch to dessert, 274 Street has it all. They serve Australian (Western)-Asian food, from pasta to omurice, complete with an array of coffee and drink choices. But of course, when you come, you will be greeted by the rich selection of brunch items that simply can’t be missed, like the Morning Croissant, Savory Pancakes with Eggs Benedict, or the famous Cheese Croffle.

The Grumpy Butcher
The crew behind the premier steakhouse, Boy’N’Cow, recently launched a new Smokehouse BBQ restaurant in the heart of Petitenget. Though the place is called ‘The Grumpy Butcher,‘ there is no way anyone can be grumpy when faced with the breathtaking views of the outdoor dining area and the exquisite cuisine. Cooked and smoked over coffee wood, here you can pick your meat of choice, ranging from beef brisket, house-made sausages, juicy tomahawk steak, succulent BBQ ribs, and many more. With bowls of Southern dishes on the side and ice-cold beer in hand, a meal in The Grumpy Butcher shouts warm, uncomplicated comfort.

Rosalita's Cantina Bali
With the presence of Rosalita’s Cantina in Seminyak Square, Bali now has one more ‘it’ spot for people to let loose and unwind. Every night, patrons are invited to bask in the fun and festive atmosphere, with live bands and DJ performances waiting on the dance floor. True, the margaritas here are iconic and it would be a loss to skip them, but that doesn’t mean you can pass up the delicious Tex-Mex fare like nachos, tacos, and fajitas, as well as the Texan Steakhouse menu, which includes steaks, burgers, other juicy meat options. The bar serves snacks and drinks until 01.00 AM, so you are welcome to stay, have fun, and get a little tipsy until late here in Rosalita’s Cantina.

Kynd Community Canggu
The Kynd Community started as a small cafe in Seminyak Bali six years ago, and recently, they have grown into a second outpost in Canggu. They are open every day at seven in the morning and are studded with nutritious breakfast staples options, with the highlight being smoothie bowls that you can customize to your liking. More than that, the all-pink eatery offers all plant-based dishes, where you can find the vegan version of delicious smoothies, salad bowls, pasta, big mac, and beyond, with the added bonus of adorable pink mural to take photos for the ‘gram.

Cha Ching Clan
Cha Ching Clan is the newest oriental-themed bistro in Canggu, offering North-western Chinese cuisine and well-crafted, spirit-forward cocktails. Though they use modern approaches, that doesn’t erase the authenticity of the Chinese-Dongbei flavors here. After all, two native Dongbei sifu chefs helm the kitchen. The menu reflects both chefs’ culinary experience in Dongbei, featuring meat and seafood dishes that heavily incorporate stir-frying, steaming, and barbeque technique, giving the dishes a distinct charred “wok hei” aroma that keeps you coming back for more. The spotlights are the variety of stir-fry, as well as the ‘Seafood Platter,’ a tasty feast consisting of fresh crab, clams, and prawns.

Brasserie République
Paying homage to the classic early 20th-century Parisian brasserie, Brasserie République greets Sanur’s neighborhood with its homey yet refined dining experience. Grab your Crêpe au Hollandaise for breakfast, the braised bone-in chicken or Coq Au Vin for lunch, and Canard à l’Orange (duck with orange sauce) for dinner, and you’re set to end the day with their premium wine collection, just like how the Parisians do.

Being one of the newest addition to the long line of Canggu cafes, the Gihon Cafe and Eatery stand out with its unique eco-bamboo house concept, harmoniously connecting the open architecture to nature. If those inside are awed by the bamboo-dominated interior, those who choose to sit in the outdoor area will also be spoiled by the green rice fields stretching wide around the cafe. Expect fusion dishes on their menu, from the Western-style Gihon Signature Burger to the Asian-inspired Sweet and Savory Marinated Pork Ribs. The Gihon Cafe and Eatery’s ambiance is quite mesmerizing to witness at night, especially with a refreshing glass of their cocktail accompanying.

FOLD Bali
The next time you stroll through Jalan Nelayan in Canggu looking for a spot to sit and eat croissants, make a stop at Fold, and you will thank yourself afterward. As one of Canggu’s biggest bakeries, the two-story building is hard to miss with its green-tiled and high pillars facade. Although this artisan bakery is new, its reputation for quality is not, as they are practically the handiwork of the beloved 7 AM Bakery’s chef, Maxime Chené. They serve artisan bread and delectable pastries like Palmier and Canelé, but the pastry is not all there is here. You can also find their bread in the complete breakfast plates, like brioche in Oeuf Mouillette (soft, boiled egg and truffle butter) or sourdough in the Goat Cheese and Tomato Confit Skillet.
