The Ultimate Bartender Championship is back, and Monkey Shoulder has put on a bigger and better event this year. Increasing its competition scene in Indonesia and expanding its platform for bartenders to showcase ‘Skills that Pay the Bills.’
Moving on from the usual ten-minute cocktail-making shows, the Ultimate Bartender Championship sees participants compete in six high-energy challenges to prove their competence in all the aspects it takes to become the ultimate bartender.
Monkey Shoulder held the Ultimate Bartender Championship in Surabaya for the first time, adding to the excitement of events that were also held in Jakarta, Semarang, and Bali.
Inviting participants to evolve from everything they know about conventional bartending competitions, the Ultimate Bartender Championship has been designed to inspire the excitement of bartending with scotch.
Over the last three weeks in four cities, more than 200 of Indonesia’s top mixologists competed in high-energy championships that tested various essential skills in the industry. Four winners have earned a ring of glory and the title of Ultimate Bartender 2022.
In Bali, Kadek Sancaya Dwi Permana from Manina Cocktail Bar became one of the winners of Monkey Shoulder Ultimate Bartender. Entering this competition for the second time, Kadek showed determination and strong performance to be on top in this event.
Furthermore, Adhimas Hendrawan from Wishbone won the title in Semarang. “After being in this industry for almost five years, I love working as a bartender because I can meet many customers and entertain them with my expertise,” said Hendrawan, who brings his passion and talent to the competition.
Turning to Surabaya, Gerald Putera Prakoso from G Flavors has set the bar high. Armed with his ambition and experience, he proved himself a determined challenger and became the first winner of the Ultimate Bartender Champion in Surabaya.
Finally, in the final competition held in Jakarta, I Gede Bati Sanistya Arimbawa from Osteria Gia clinched victory with Indonesia’s last UBC Winner’s Ring of the Year – a major feat for his debut in the bartending competition.
The winner of the Ultimate Bartender Championship 2022 will also receive a trip to the Philippines along with the winners of the Ultimate Bartender Championship 2022 in Southeast Asia.
Apart from expanding the competition to more bartenders in Indonesia, the Ultimate Bartender Championship will also be held in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand in the next two months.
