Unveiling the borderless Franco-Asian Steakhouse sizzling on teppan by MDA Restaurants, Ironplate opened its door on the 27th of September, 2022. Reinventing classic chophouse & bistro-inspired dishes, Ironplate celebrates the bounty of land & sea, prepared in front of your very eyes with extensive use of our Iron Plate grills. Located in MD Place’s penthouse level, Ironplate is helmed by Chef Andri, MDA’s Chef Patron. Chef Andri has built a team dedicated to presenting a Franco-Asian avant-garde steakhouse experience in the heart of Jakarta.
Ironplate focuses on contemporary cuisine, an inventive and fresh approach to discovering a new world of French-inspired dishes with distinctive Asian influence, prepared live in front of your very eyes. The beauty of Franco-Asian food lies in the use of fresh, seasonal produce, sublime presentation, and layers of complexity in every dish, celebrating while embracing the freedom of imbuing it with equal parts of sophistication and surprises. Experience will be elevated with an extensive selection from righteous wines to disenchanted cocktails.
Upon arrival, you will find yourselves walking through a dim ambiance strengthened by dark color and multi-layered stone textures. Entering the dining area, guest will be greeted by a warmer hue of amber while still be surrounded by different stone textures from rough to smooth. Each seating area eleganty polished with ligthing that put Ironplate’s chefs and each flat iron grill respectfully on the spotlight.
At Ironplate, the only avant-garde teppan-fueled steakhouse sizzling in town, guests can enjoy their steak with a selection of six homemade composed butter, such as umami, truffle parm, chimichurri, New Orleans cajun, bone marrow & burnt chili ‘nduja, and pickled wasabi butter with a selection of classic-inspired sauces to enhance the meat to a more provocative state. For your steak’s perfect classic sidekick, you can choose a selection of Pommes – such as Pommes “Anne,” Pommes Frites, Pommes Puree, Pommes LN2, and Cambozola Au Gratin.
Begin your Ironplate journey with our delightful Saucisson en Briochè, served with house-made beef mortadella, truffled Port-Perigueux sauce, and fennel-apple slaw. Soon enough, let us lift your mood with an aphrodisiac, Kaki à la Bourguignonne, with Hiroshima oysters topped with persillade sauce, garlic, and onion crumbles and followed by Mushroom Millefeuille that will arouse your palate with smooth texture from porcini cappuccino, crisp trumpet royale millefeuille, and parsley crumbs.
Entering the hors d’oeuvre, set your eyes on our Paella Cigars made from day-old “socarrat,” which beautifully pirroute with shrimp mousseline, chicken andouille, and remoulade. Let the romanticism continues with Chicken Fricassée – A half-bone chicken braised in sake-pao jiao and artichokes veloute.
Continue to tease your palate with Duck a’la Kankitsukei – dry-aged duck with yuzu miso jus, tongue karaage & 3-citrus slaw domed in apple wood smoke. Close up with a kiss from our signature desserts, La Vie en Rose – brioche pain perdu, litchi crème pâtissière,rose compote, and strawberry sherbet, or Bababanana, baba au rhum x banana foster, served with tamari shoyu ice cream.
The restaurant is divided into three sections – the bar where visitors can enjoy lovely potations by the restaurant’s mixologists – the open dining space that overlooks the stunning Setiabudi cityscape, and our three private dining rooms are perfect for hosting your various gatherings and occasions
