Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, has introduced Grand Château, the latest addition to its Grand Series. This 31-year-old whisky continues to push boundaries with its unique blend of luxury, matured in American oak casks and finished for nine years in Bordeaux wine casks.

The Grand Château whisky celebrates a new fusion of flavors. Matured initially in American oak, it undergoes an extended nine-year finishing period in Bordeaux red wine casks. This process imparts layers of rich and unexpected flavors, including notes of caramelized cherry, apple, warming spice, and toasted oak. The result is a luxurious, yet earthy, liquid that is both fruity and floral.

Part of The Glenfiddich Grand Series, Grand Château embodies the union of single malt with diverse cultures from around the world. This series, known for its innovative approach to whisky making, introduces unique flavor profiles by finishing the whisky in various types of casks.

Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich Malt Master, explained, “Bordeaux red wine casks offer versatile flavors and are recognized for their outstanding quality. Nine years in these casks intensifies Glenfiddich’s classic fruity character with notes of deep oak and warming vanilla. This finishing process makes Grand Château an intriguing and collectible whisky.”

Claudia Falcone, Glenfiddich Global Brand Director, added, “Grand Château allows us to explore the collision of different cultures while elevating luxury. This addition to our portfolio showcases our commitment to pushing the boundaries of whisky making.”

The display boxes for Grand Château highlight Glenfiddich’s connection to the arts. French street artist André Saraiva has designed the bold interior packaging and created ‘The Artist’s Edition’ by reimagining 250 traditional Toile De Jouy display boxes. These limited edition boxes feature Saraiva’s signature ‘Mr.A’ character, adding a playful interpretation of the spirit and its story.

Grand Château joins other exceptional whiskies in the Grand Series, such as Grand Yozakura, Grande Couronne, Glenfiddich Grand Cru, Gran Cortes, and Glenfiddich Gran Reserva. Each whisky in the series features unique aging and finishing processes, creating distinctive flavor profiles.
