Wine culture in Asia is entering a new chapter with the arrival of DAOU Vineyards, a respected estate from California’s Paso Robles region. The winery has begun its expansion into Southeast and North Asia, with Indonesia among the first countries to welcome its collection. This move introduces a distinctive style of winemaking to a growing audience of enthusiasts across the region.

 

At the heart of DAOU’s identity is its focus on terroir. The estate sits on DAOU Mountain in the Adelaida District, where clay soils with limestone and calcareous layers echo the conditions of Bordeaux. These soils, combined with the climate of Paso Robles, create wines that are bold yet refined, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varietals. Founded by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou, the winery has played a key role in shaping Paso Robles into a destination recognized for world-class wines.

For Indonesia and neighboring markets, DAOU is introducing three main collections. The Paso Robles Collection reflects the character of the wider region, produced through close partnerships with local growers. These wines highlight the diversity of Paso Robles, offering approachable yet expressive flavors. The Estate Collection comes from select vineyard blocks on DAOU Mountain, aged in French oak barrels chosen specifically for their ability to enhance depth and complexity. At the pinnacle is PATRIMONY, a label dedicated to crafting California’s equivalent of first-growth Bordeaux wines. These bottles are known for their structure, elegance, and ability to age gracefully.

In Asia, DAOU wines will be available through select distributors, reaching fine dining venues, premium retailers, and travel outlets. For Indonesian wine lovers, this marks the beginning of access to a portfolio that includes celebrated labels such as Soul of a Lion and PATRIMONY. Each bottle reflects the estate’s philosophy of combining Paso Robles’ natural strengths with careful winemaking.
