Hi! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your day-to-day activities?

Hi I’m Yuda Bustara! At the moment I’m focusing on creating a lot of content, Ramadhan is always a busy time for me since a lot of brands making content videos, new recipes or doing a pop-up event, so it’s going to be a hectic month for me, or for anybody who works in Hospitality

How would you describe your favourite foods?

Healthy-ish

What is your favourite midnight snack?

Expensive Korean strawberry that I got from Grand Lucky store with sliced banana, a dollop of plain yoghurt dan a tablespoon of honey.

What is the most recent dining destination you visited that left a good impression?

August restaurant Run by chef Hans, Ardika and Budi, I feel so happy to see them finally have a Restaurant for their beautiful dish and team, I follow them since they did pop up in some apartments, now with new ambience and service, it’s like a completely different experience, a good experience.

Are there any restaurants that you wanted to go to (abroad or in Indonesia) but haven’t been able to?

Yes! Dewakan restaurant in Platinum Park, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, hopefully the border opening soon

Where is your go-to place for coffee and do you have a favourite menu?

I’m blessed I live in Indonesia, coffee is abundant, they are everywhere and cheap, I invest in espresso machine at home, so mostly in the morning I made my own flat white, but if I go out and needed a pre-workout caffeine, I can go to, Indomaret for their fresh coffee, mcd, Dunkin, Starbucks if I have a meeting and lastly any hipster café around Kemang, that usually always packed.

What are your favourite local dishes, and where do you go to eat them?

Bakso! On any occasion I will always have bakso, for me the best meatballs with deep beef broth would be baso solo Samrat. Fun fact Samrat stand for Sam Ratulangi, it was their first-ever address, but they are available anywhere now, even online.

If you have visitors from abroad/out of Jakarta, where do you take them to give a genuine taste of Indonesia?

For sure Pagi Sore Cipete for Padang, or Bandar Jakarta for some Indonesian grilled seafood. Funny story one of my Spanish friends became vegan after dining there, because it was gruesome for him, to decide which fish to kill for dinner. He is still vegan until now, and it was 4 years ago

Do you have any go-to venues for hanging out with friends, or maybe for special occasions with family?

My father is vegan, so options are limited for the whole family to pick a restaurant, mostly if a go with my father, we’ll go to any hotel because they do PROPER vegan, (not like a salad with thousand islands which consist egg in it) and with friends usually, we will try new places we discovered from TikTok! Recently I brought my Muslim friend to a new dim sum place in PIK and found out it’s not halal later that night, but we had a good time though.

In the past few years, we have seen a lot of unique food trends; which food trend do you like the most and why?

I love this one Szechuan dish that are now available in Jakarta or worldwide, its suan cai yu, or deep-fried fish in hot and sour soup with Mala pepper, I love it very much, very comforting dish.

Did you develop new recipes or discover a new type of food you have enjoyed in the recent year?

I’m starting to eat less and less meat, so I found out there are plenty of good vegetarian or vegan places in Jakarta, like Max Pizza by Burgreens, they have the best vegan cheese in town

Do you have your favourite simple and quick recipe that you made yourself? Please pick one of your favourites.

Yes for sure, here is how I make my green smoothies, 1 palm of spinach leaves, 1 palm of cut pineapple and 250ml of coconut water, blend with ice and that’s my everyday green smoothies.

Your favourite food merchant from an online delivery platform that you often order?

Baso solo Samrat or quatro formaggi pizza from union pondok indah mall.
