Asia’s 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier, has unveiled its annual extended list of the region’s best drinking destinations, highlighting ranks 51 to 100 ahead of the official top 50 announcement. Now in its fifth edition, the 51-100 list offers a wider lens into the region’s dynamic bar scene and includes 14 new entries from 23 cities across Asia.
Two bars from Jakarta made the cut this year. Pantja returns to the list at No.68, continuing its reputation as one of the capital’s leading cocktail destinations, while newcomer The Golden Tooth debuts at No.98. Known for its Brooklyn-inspired loft atmosphere and sharp, conversation-led cocktail programming, The Golden Tooth marks a fresh addition to Jakarta’s growing craft cocktail landscape.
Singapore leads with six spots, including Side Door, a new entry at No.53. Founded by Bannie Kang and Tryson Quek, the bar is celebrated for its seamless mix of culinary and cocktail craftsmanship. Other cities with a strong showing include Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo, each securing four placements.
Notable new entrants include Obsidian Bar in Shenzhen at No.51, Sora in Phnom Penh at No.65, and Maltail in Kaohsiung at No.75. Bars in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City also performed well, with multiple entries highlighting regional diversity and innovation.
The extended list is compiled by the Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy, a panel of over 300 industry experts including bartenders, bar owners, and drinks writers. The 2025 awards ceremony will take place on 15 July in Macau, marking the first time the event is hosted in the city.
This year’s list reflects Asia’s fast-evolving bar culture, with a growing number of cities producing standout establishments. For Jakarta, the recognition of Pantja and The Golden Tooth signals continued momentum in a maturing and increasingly ambitious cocktail scene.
