Plataran Venue & Dining has introduced a new selection of menus across its outlets, with two special menus taking the spotlight. The Ecotourism Menu is available at Plataran Venue & Dining Jakarta, while the Sorong Selatan Special Menu is served at Hutan Kota by Plataran. The launch took place at Hutan Kota by Plataran on 20 October 2026.
The new menus reflect Plataran’s approach to dining through the lens of Indonesia’s nature, communities and cultural heritage. The Ecotourism Menu focuses on plants found across the country, from islands and forests to mountains and coastal areas. While many of these plants have long been part of local communities because of their health benefits, some are increasingly being forgotten.
The menu is built around Plataran’s three ecotourism pillars, Nature, Community and Culture. Each dish highlights the origin of its ingredients, the people who care for them, and the local knowledge that has helped preserve them.
The second highlight, the Sorong Selatan Special Menu, was developed through a collaboration between Plataran, Legenda Khatulistiwa, National Geographic Indonesia and Konservasi Indonesia. As part of the collaboration, a group of women from Sorong Selatan came to Hutan Kota by Plataran to share their culture and traditional cooking techniques passed down through generations with the Plataran team.
The dishes were prepared with attention to the original recipes and the people who carry these culinary traditions. The menu brings together stories from the forests and seas of Sorong Selatan, highlighting culinary heritage from Papua.
The launch event opened with a cooking demonstration of Sagu Broncong Gula Merah, one of the dishes from the Sorong Selatan Special Menu. The tasting continued with dishes from Plataran’s Seasonal Menu, including Rujak Serut Rumbia Sorbet, Sop Cakalang Kalakan, Ayam Kampung Bakar Malika, Sate Padang Minang Baru and Nasi Goreng Kambing Kentongan.
The Ecotourism Menu was represented by Terong Bakar, while the Sorong Selatan Special Menu included Udang Bambu and Sayur Gedi. Desserts included Crêpes Es Kacang Merah and Es Bongko Pandan.
Alongside the two featured menus, Plataran Venue & Dining has also introduced several other new dishes across its outlets. The new menus are available to the public from 21 October 2026.
The Ecotourism Menu is available exclusively at Plataran Venue & Dining Jakarta, while the Sorong Selatan Special Menu will be available for a limited period at Hutan Kota by Plataran.
