During Ramadan, many observe a shift in their routines as the weeks go by. In my own experience, the pre-dawn meal, or suhoor, can lose some of its initial excitement by the second week. But that’s exactly why I, along with countless others, find delicious suhoor options so important! This year, I’ve compiled a list of restaurants offering mouthwatering suhoor meals to keep those pre-dawn bites exciting and help us all power through the day.

Gentong Mas

Nestled in Sudirman Central Business District, making it easier to be a gathering point if you’re planning on eating suhoor with your loved ones. While Nasi Lidah Sapi Spesial is a popular choice, Nasi Campur Madura offers a distinct flavor profile that will leave you wanting more.  This flavorful dish features black squid, krengsengan (spicy meat stew), and tripe, creating a truly memorable experience. During Ramadan, Gentong Mas opens at 4.30 p.m. and closes at 4 a.m. Not only open during suhoor time, this year Gentong Mas will remain open during Eid al-Fitr.

Haidilao Huoguo

Haidilao Huoguo, with its appetizing hot pot concept, offers an interactive and fun dining experience. This Ramadan, they provide a wide selection of meat, seafood and fresh vegetables to satisfy your appetite. But it should also be noted that not all Haidilao Huogo are open until morning. The Gandaria City branch is only open until 12 a.m., while the Taman Anggrek Mall and PIK Avenue branch is open until 4 a.m., the Haidilao Huoguo Mall of Indonesia branch is open until 5 a.m., while the Grand Indonesia branch is only open until 2 a.m. Don’t forget, the only branch that doesn’t serve lard and pork is Gandaria City.

Haka Dimsum Shop

Haka Dimsum Shop has become a favorite for late-night cravings, as they are open 24 hours. In the month of Ramadan, Haka Dimsum is ready to accompany those of you who want to enjoy the warmth of a dimsum for suhoor However, you need to keep in mind that since they are always open and although they do have several branches, (BSD, Kemang, Bintaro, Blok M, Alam Sutera, Galaxy, and Kelapa Gading) can get crowded. To ensure a seat, consider planning your arrival time.

Pagi Sore

Padang cuisine for suhoor? Yes please! Imagine enjoying Ayam Panggang and Rendang to boost your mood up in the morning, indeed Padang cuisine can’t go wrong. Pagi Sore’s branches that can be visited to enjoy suhoor are Cempaka Putih, Rawamangun, Sunter, Tebet, Cipete, Jeruk Purut, Kalimalang, Puncak, and Bogor. These branches are open until 4 a.m. There’s also PS Coffee by Pagi Sore at the Pagi Sore Puncak branch, so for those who need their caffeine kicks, this might be the choice for you. For me and my family, eating Padang cuisine during the fasting month like this has become a routine, apart from enjoying delicious Padang cuisine, just to simply spend time with my family eating our comfort food.
