Bali’s delectable dishes and artistic creations intertwine at the Bejana, the iconic Indonesian restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton that features a dramatic clifftop setting overlooking Nusa Dua and showcases authentic local cuisine.
Aptly called the ‘Art & Dine at Bejana’ offers an explorative experience into exciting artworks while enjoying gastronomic dishes best shared with family and friends. Running from 21 October until 30 October, ‘Art & Dine’ features a curated paintings exhibition “Imagine Asia” from Putu PW Winata, a Balinese Artist in collaboration with Galeri Zen1.
As the second installment of Bejana’s ‘Art & Dine’ this experience welcomes guests to dine amidst curated exhibitions, with Galeri Zen1 bringing more than 10 artwork collections of Putu ‘PW’ Winata, and displayed on the walls of Bejana Restaurant.
Showcasing contemporary style from the up-and-coming artist, Galeri Zen 1 exhibits Putu Winata’s paintings that show an expression of Asia’s natural beauty. Winata is a Balinese artist who has sold out his solo exhibition and is in the top 10 nominations for the 2022 UOB Art of The Year Awards – the annual art competition, the longest-running in Singapore, and one of the most recognized competitions in Southeast Asia.
The ‘Art & Dine’ affair also aims to raise funds for the Bali Pink Ribbon foundation, in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Inspired by the beauty clifftop views at the Benjana, Winata created the artwork “Syahdu Bumi” that is open for auction starting on 21 October. All proceeds of the auction will be donated to the Bali Pink Ribbon foundation.
“My artworks are inspired by the floral beauty and landscapes of Asia. The East grows beautiful flowers such as Marigold and Sakura, and I’ve drawn inspiration to the emotion that the environment brings,” Winata said.
Some of his paintings in the “Imagine Asia” collection showcase the Sakura flower, which he describes as “a symbol of lifetime commitment and of culture.”
During the course of ‘Art & Dine,’ Bejana offers the Indonesian Archipelago Rijsttafel for guests looking to share this artistic and gastronomic experience. The Rijsttafel sharing set includes dishes across Indonesia and Bali, as well as Bejana’s signature dishes that guests also can find in the a la carte menu.
The three-course Rijsttafel includes Indonesia’s popular dishes such as the flavourful Rendang Sapi (Beef Rendang), Ikan Menyat-Nyat (Fish Fillet Spicy Garlic), Lodeh Jantung Pisang Klungah (Javanese Coconut Soup), Jukut Cantok (Steamed Vegetable in Peanut Sauce), and many more.
A true experience of the senses, Bejana’s ‘Art & Dine’ affair is an appreciation of Asian culture that is found in the artistic expression of the Balinese artist, Putu Winata, as well as the rich and savory flavors of the Indonesian Archipelago Rijsttafel.
