Continuing its commitment to offering a more personal and meaningful Italian dining experience, Osteria GIA unveils the latest edition of its bimonthly menu series: Chef Tommaso’s Famiglia Recipe. Running from 1 May to 30 June 2025, this special menu is available across all Osteria GIA locations in Jakarta and presents five dishes inspired by the childhood memories and family heritage of Executive Chef Tommaso Gonfiantini.
Drawing from his upbringing in Tuscany, each dish tells a story—whether a treasured Sunday lunch or a first taste that left a lasting impression. These creations are rooted in authenticity, bringing together warmth, nostalgia, and refined Italian cooking.
Highlights from the Chef Tommaso’s Famiglia Recipe menu include:
-
Golden Crochetta – A crispy terrine of duck and chicken served with a fresh chervil-chive sauce. A tribute to Chef Tommaso’s early appreciation for crunchy textures and poultry dishes growing up.
-
Scallop Aglio Olio – Linguine tossed with white wine, asparagus, and bottarga. This pasta evokes memories of summer holidays in Forte dei Marmi, where he first discovered a love for scallops.
-
Wagyu Peposo e Polenta (available at Pacific Place, Plaza Indonesia, and Pondok Indah Mall) – A classic family dish made with 12-hour slow-cooked wagyu shin shank in black pepper, served with Taleggio polenta. Based on a cherished Sunday lunch recipe from Chef Tommaso’s grandmother.
-
Iberico Peposo e Polenta (available at Central Park, Kelapa Gading, and Pantai Indah Kapuk) – A variation of the above dish using braised Iberico pork belly, designed for diners who prefer pork, offering equally rich and comforting flavors.
-
Black Ink Risotto – Squid ink risotto with baby calamari, herbs, lemon, and crispy mushrooms. Inspired by Chef Tommaso’s childhood fascination with the dramatic dark color of squid ink and its unique oceanic flavor.
The bimonthly specials program has become a hallmark of Osteria GIA, reflecting the restaurant’s focus on storytelling through food while maintaining the hallmarks of quality and authenticity. Known for its chic Italian interiors, heartfelt service, and character-rich dishes, Osteria GIA continues to be a favorite destination for Italian cuisine lovers in Jakarta.
Further strengthening its national presence, Osteria GIA will expand to Semarang later this year. Following a successful debut in Surabaya last November, the upcoming opening marks another milestone in the brand’s journey to bring authentic Italian dining experiences to more cities across Indonesia.
