The celebrations are over, the laughter has settled, and you’re left with a warm glow of memories (and maybe a fridge overflowing with delicious leftovers). We all adore our Eid feasts, don’t we? The endless spread, the joy of family gatherings, and of course, the incredible food. From the rich Opor to the fiery Rendang, each family has its own special Eid menu, like mine – we always sneak in a pot of homemade Bakso for a bit of fun!
But even the most mouthwatering dishes can get repetitive after a few days. So, to keep things interesting and avoid any leftover-induced boredom (we’ve all been there!) Here are some creative ways to repurpose your favorite Eid delights! Let’s face it, there’s bound to be plenty left over, so why not transform them into exciting new meals?
Rendang
Spicy and succulent Rendang is a true Eid hero. But fear not, even Rendang veterans get tired of the same dish day after day. Why not try to think outside the box! Repurpose that leftover Rendang by transforming it into a fiery Rendang Spring Roll filling. Just mix some chopped Rendang with chopped vegetables and spices, wrap it up in spring roll wrappers, and fry until golden brown. I’m sure this will be a new interesting way to eat rendang.
Kentang Mustofa
Those crispy and crunchy Kentang Mustofa potatoes are a crowd-pleaser. But don’t stop at just a side dish! Here’s a thought: Mash up some leftover Kentang Mustofa and use them as a base for savory potato pancakes (perkedel). Add some chopped vegetables and spices for extra flavor, and pan-fry until crispy.
