From 19 January to 21 January, world-renowned Chef Morimoto presents a series of culinary affairs for Jakarta’s culinary enthusiasts


The Langham, Jakarta an award-winning Hotel located in the heart of Jakarta’s business district, in partnership with acclaimed Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto is thrilled to announce the return of the legendary Chef Morimoto to Jakarta. This three-day culinary celebration in honor of Morimoto Jakarta will take place from Friday, 19 January to Sunday, 21 January 2024. The opening day will showcase chef Morimoto’s skill in cutting 50 kg of Tuna and present it as an exclusive omakase experience for the guests.

Chef Masaharu Morimoto has become a modern icon in the realm of Asian cuisine, mastering authentic and fusion Japanese culinary arts in particular. Gaining global recognition through Iron Chef, the esteemed cooking show in Japan and America, Chef Morimoto quickly expanded his culinary venture through his self-owned restaurant chain, Morimoto. Located on the 63rd floor, Morimoto Jakarta is the first in Southeast Asia, representing an exciting addition to the city’s dining scene with innovative cuisines and excellent service in a vibrant and dynamic urban life.

Exquisite the Omakase Experience

During his visit, guests can savour a dedicated set of menus and an omakase menu curated by Chef Morimoto exclusively for Morimoto Jakarta. The special menu features Morimoto’s signature newstyle Japanese cuisine, highlighting the most premium A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Beef, served in a three, five or six-course menu.

The dishes include Zensai A5 matsutake with shirako ponzu ankake, teriyaki uni oyster, misoyaki gyutan and salmon aioliyaki ; Sashimi ; Lobster brown butter poached with uni, tomato tobanjan coulis and basil oil ; King Crab ; A5 striploin and foie gras ; and Miso caramel chocolate tart. The special set menu is available for lunch and dinner, and priced from IDR 1,888,000++ per person.

Kaitai Tuna Cutting Event & Cooking Demo with Chef Morimoto

Japanese cuisine is renowned for its freshness and meticulous treatment of ingredients. Kaitai, a tunacutting demonstration by the Chef Morimoto, has become a highly attractive shows enjoyed globally.

During this visit, Chef Morimoto will perform the Kaitai and showcase his proficiency in cutting and handling 50 kg of fresh tuna, transforming it into a wonderful meal. The Live Tuna Cutting event is scheduled for dinner time on Friday, 19 January and priced at IDR 2,488,000++ including a six-course menu.

Scheduled on Sunday, 21 January, a cooking demo will provide an intimate and insightful setting. Hosted by Morimoto, attendees will have a rare opportunity to learn and sharpen the skills in making four Japanese fusion signature dishes from none other but the Iron Chef. The Cooking Demo will be followed by a four-course lunch at Morimoto Jakarta and available at IDR 988,000++ per person.
