Sharing a hearty meal with your loved ones will undoubtedly be the ideal way to spend the auspicious day rather than just as a symbol. It’s time to reunite with loved ones, spread prosperity, and ask for blessings.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best restaurants for Chinese New Year celebrations if you want to eat out. ranging from a heartwarming traditional meal to delectable, nostalgic modern dishes.

Chinese New Year Feast

GIOI

This year, the Asian-inspired farm-to-table eatery, GIOI, introduces a Special Chinese New Year Set Menu that embodies the essence of the Lunar New Year for a price of IDR 1,288,000++. The menu includes the traditional Yu Sheng platter along with courses like the Golden Salted Egg Gyoza, Longevity XO Noodle, Abundance Kungpao Fish, and Crispy Pork Belly. A ‘Pineapple Delight’ dessert is also on the list to round up your dinner with a sweet finale and welcome the new year with a sweet start. For those born in the Rabbit year at each GIOI location, several surprises like dining vouchers, angpao, and complimentary mocktails await.

Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta

Usher in the Year of the Rabbit with a grand feast and an abundance of flavor as you celebrate new beginnings and family ties this Lunar New Year. A bountiful Year of the Rabbit awaits at Signatures, with a sumptuous selection of traditional Lunar New Year delicacies, including braised seafood treasure, stewed beef brisket, wok-fried salted egg yolk crab, homemade dim sum, and many more, to symbolize prosperity, happiness, and auspiciousness for the rest of the year! Share the blessing of good fortune and luck as you toss your yee sang, provided on each table, with your family. IDR 688,000++ per person | 21 and 22 January 2023.

Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta

Led by Executive Chinese Chef Yang Guojian and one of China’s most notable 2 Michelin star chefs, Chef Fei – Li Feng will present authentic Cantonese cuisine. The sumptuous meal will start with Prosperity Yu Sheng, the traditional dish of Chinese New Year, served with Salmon and Jellyfish with garden vegetables in homemade apple cider plum dressing. Other menu highlights include Deep Fried Golden Swan Dumpling with Roasted Duck, Steamed Tiger Grouper Fish with Tofu Black Fungus in Soya Sauce, and Roasted BBQ Platter Pork Char Siew Roasted Duck and Crispy Pork Belly.

The 11-course’ Kung Hei Fat Choi’ set menu will be available at Li Feng on 21 January 2023 for dinner and 22 January 2023 for lunch and dinner.

Shangri-La Jakarta

JIA, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, will create a unique series of dishes to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Guests are invited to indulge in Chinese New Year set dinners on 21 January 2023, with prices ranging from Xin Nian Kuai Le at IDR 1,888,000++ per person, Gong Xi Fa Cai at IDR 2,188,000++ per person, and Wan Shi Ru Yi at IDR 3,088,000++ per person. A wide array of delectable premium a la carte menus, set menu, and all-youcan-eat premium Dim Sum lunch will be also available during Chinese New Year Day and Cap Gomeh, with prices starting from IDR 588,000++ per person.

Plataran

Showcasing a combination of traditional and modern flavors, Plataran Menteng serves a lineup of menus dedicated to symbolizing this season’s energy of peace and longevity. You can find comforting bites of familiar flavors with a modern twist, like Nasi Goreng Teratai (fried glutinous rice wrapped with lotus leaf), Ayam Rempah Lemon, and Apem Tape Gula Merah. Book a table for your family for a Chinese New Year feast, and savor every bite together while enjoying the rich tapestry of traditional Indonesian ambiance.

Raffles Jakarta

Usher in the Year of the Rabbit with splendid culinary experiences. At Arts Café by Raffles, Executive Sous Chef Lukman and his team prepare Cantonese dishes that spotlight fresh, seasonal produce and expert culinary prowess. Catch some good fortune with the Lion Dance performance. Beginning in the lobby, the dancers make their way around the Hotel with this traditional dance that symbolizes prosperity, good health, and abundance for a new year. Be sure to catch some blessings with our lucky golden coins and sweets for the little ones.

Tamarind and Lime

Available from 10-31 January 2023, Tamarind and Lime are opening its door to host their guests’ reunion feast with the Lucky Lunar Family Package menu (IDR 1,088,000++). The menu draws from delicious traditional Chinese flavors, including Yu Sheng, Wonton with Chilli Oil and Garlic, Long-Life Noodles, Fried Fish with Tamarind Sauce, Roasted Chicken Char Siu, Saikoro Beef Rawon, Ground Beef with Green Beans, complete with sweet and sour ‘Jeruk Mandarin’ Pannacotta.

TWELVE

Helmed by Chef Kamata, Twelve Chinese Dining offers a unique experience of neo-Chinese-Japanese cuisines, along with stunning interior design that will be a feast for the eyes. For this Year of Water Rabbit celebration, Chef Katama has prepared a special set menu with rich flavors and high-quality ingredients to enlighten the perfect reunion. Starting from IDR 1,888,000++, you can celebrate the Yu Sheng tradition with your family and enjoy an array of scrumptious dishes like Lotus Leaves Wrapped Glutinous Rice and Pecking Duck afterward. This menu is available from 16 January – 5 February 2023, with the Lion Dance (Barongsai), performed on 21 and 22 January 2023.
