The dining scene in Kemang is getting more interesting with the opening of Born and Bred. Located in Jalan Kemang Selatan, Born and Bred sit adjacent to Hero Kemang. Sets in a minimalist setup, Born and Bred is a place where you can find various comfort food on the menu.
“We want to provide a bit of everything for our guests,” said Leon, the owner. Leon is not new in the restaurant industry in Indonesia. He is the guy behind De La House Indonesia, the group that manages Parc 19 Bistro Terrace, LEÓN, Twenty Fifth, and GOLDSTEIN.
“Born and Bred mission is to become a local hero in Kemang neighborhood where people can enjoy the best comfort food in a homey setting,” he explains
Stay true to the mission, the menu in Born and Bred is full of promising Asian and Western delicacies. You can find tasty kwetiau goreng to Philly cheesesteak Angus beef. The kitchen is helmed by Panji Wiseso, a seasoned chef and a William Angliss Institute, Melbourne alumnus.
Panji and his team successfully recreate an array of comfort dishes that are loved by locals. Start your meal with tasty L. A. Dumplings or batagor then followed by their Signature Kweitau. The kwetiau’s taste is close to the ones that you can find in an authentic Chinese restaurant. Born and Bred is also open for breakfast where they offer a selection of breakfast menus such as acai bowl, egg benedict, bubur kuah kuning, bakmi ayam jamur, farmers breakfast, and more.
With Leon’s background managing bars and lounges in Jakarta for years, he also intends to introduce cocktail culture in Born and Bred. “We have options of classic cocktails to enjoy while you’re enjoying your dinner or when you just come for light bites. But here, we don’t have DJ or live music performance,” Leon quipped.
Born and Bred open daily from 8am to 9pm and is also available on food delivery service.
