Chef Akira Back, born in Seoul, South Korea, raised in Aspen, USA, and later moved to Rocky Mountain at the age of 15, has a rich culinary background. He opened the first Akira Back Steak in Los Angeles, USA, with the concept of a Modern Korean BBQ Steakhouse. Currently, Chef Akira Back has restaurants in various cities worldwide. With the Modern Korean BBQ concept and over two decades of culinary experience, Chef Akira Back chose Jakarta as the location for the launch of AB Steak and A Bar, the first in Indonesia and the second outlet for AB Steak. Chef Akira Back achieved a Michelin Star in 2017 for the DOSA restaurant in Seoul and was listed in the Michelin Guide in 2019 for the Akira Back restaurant in Singapore.

AkiraBack Bar, or A Bar, debuted in Bangkok, and the second A Bar is in Jakarta.
