Kuta beach is one of the hottest destination spots and a popular tourist destination in Bali. This stunning beachfront location is a popular tourist destination for a good reason – there’s no shortage of things to do here. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer, a sun-worshipper, or just looking to indulge in delicious street food, Kuta Beach has something for everyone.

Personally, I love staying in the Kura area when I’m in Bali. The area’s energy is infectious, and I am drawn to the bustling streets and lively beachfront. There’s no shortage of incredible restaurants, bars, and shops to explore, and the warm hospitality of the locals always makes me feel right at home.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a wonderful three days and two nights of culinary indulgence at The Stones Hotel Bali, just a step away from Kuta Beach. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.

Perched on the southern tip of Legian Beach, The Stones – Legian, Bali offers guests a truly immersive experience of all that Bali has to offer. With easy access to vibrant shopping, dining, and leisure activities, this resort is the perfect vantage point for exploring everything this iconic destination offers.

As the first Marriott Autograph Collection property in the Asia Pacific, The Stones – Legian, Bali boasts a stylish design and a range of amenities to make your stay unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I could feel my anticipation rising.

Exactly Like Nothing Else

If you think staying at this resort is just another everyday experience, think again. With the motto “Exactly Like Nothing Else,” this chic resort aims to provide an unforgettable and tailored experience for each guest. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner under the starry night sky, adventurous surfing lessons, or a grand celebration in their largest pillarless ballroom in Legian, they have you covered.

During my three-day stay, my itinerary was nothing short of exciting. Surfing lessons and a tour around Kuta with Bali Beer Cycle were unforgettable activities I experienced. However, if you prefer to stay within the hotel grounds, fear not, as this resort offers many activities.

Take their enormous pool, for instance. Located at the heart of the resort, the 3,000 square-meter swimming pool immediately caught my attention, and taking a dip in the cool waters under Bali’s sunny weather was heavenly. And to top it off, they distributed snacks ranging from ice cream to fresh fruit every few hours to soothe the heat of Bali.

The adventure continues as we set foot in the Chef’s Garden, a serene oasis where the resort grows herbs and plants for use in their culinary creations. I had a blast learning how to make the beloved Balinese dish, Sate Lilit, and indulged in a variety of refreshing mocktails that were as delicious as they were Instagram-worthy.

The serenity of the lush garden, combined with the warm golden glow of Bali’s sunset, creates an idyllic and picturesque setting that is simply breathtaking. It is undoubtedly the ideal location to spend your afternoon, whether joining a cooking class or enjoying a quiet picnic away from the bustling crowds.

Start Your Day at The Stones Kitchen

This innovative restaurant offers a tempting array of international and local cuisine to suit every palate. From traditional Indonesian dishes to Western favorites and Asian flavors, the menu is a true culinary delight. And with live cooking stations offering signature buffets or a la carte offerings, diners can immerse themselves in the kitchen’s sights, sounds, and smells as they enjoy their meal.

There are times when you might crave a light breakfast, but there are also times when you want a hearty meal to start your day. You can indulge in both options at The Stones – Legian, Bali. Aside from the usual breakfast selections like rice, pasta, and omelets, I found the two live cooking stations particularly interesting. You can request freshly made fried noodles or fried rice at the cart-style cooking stations. Alternatively, for something more unique, there’s a selection of instant noodles available, complete with various toppings and vegetables you can add.

There is no such thing as a boring selection when you are at The Stones Kitchen. As I savor the rich flavors of my breakfast, I feel completely at home in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of The Stones Kitchen. And with the promise of a full day of adventure and exploration, I can’t think of a better way to fuel up for the day than a hearty breakfast.

A Dinner to Remember at The Big Fish Grill

Officially re-opened its door in February, Big Fish Grill is the signature restaurant of The Stones – Legian, Bali.  The menu has taken on a new culinary direction under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Daniel “Danny” Chaney, the mastermind behind every dish that comes out of the kitchen.

At the heart of Big Fish Grill’s kitchen is a culinary star from Barcelona, Spain – the Josper grill. This high-performance charcoal grill and the oven is a true powerhouse when it comes to charcoal gastronomy. With cooking temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees Celsius, the Josper quickly sears proteins while sealing in their natural juices, resulting in succulent and tender steaks that are an absolute delight to savor.

As my final evening at the resort arrived, I thought they couldn’t possibly impress me anymore, but I was proven wrong. The three-course dinner at Big Fish Grill was an unforgettable experience that should not be missed. The Australian Grain Fed Black Angus Ribeye is among their signature dishes, cooked perfectly medium well – the meat was very tender and paired gorgeously with their homemade Bearnaise sauce. The majority of the dishes at Big Fish Grill are infused with smoke and fire, resulting in a delectable fusion of flavors, depth, and richness in every dish.

But their impressive offerings do not end with their dishes alone. As soon as the clock strikes 6 PM, Kecak’s fiery dance performance ignites in the pool’s corner, captivating the senses with its stunning visual display. It was a mesmerizing sight to behold and added to the impressive list of experiences the resort offers.

As my three-day stay at the resort comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on what an unforgettable trip it has been. From the exciting itinerary to the warm and generous hospitality I encountered in every corner of the hotel, this experience was truly “exactly like nothing else.” It was the perfect trip to take after the pandemic, and I am already looking forward to my next stay.
