The 50 Best Restaurants 2026, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, revealed the restaurants ranked 51 to 100 on 21 October, two weeks before the full list is announced at an awards ceremony in Lima, Peru, on 4 November. Asia has 17 entries on the extended list, against 20 for Europe. The highest new entry overall is Ling Long in Shanghai, Mainland China, at No.53.

The list covers 25 territories and 36 cities across six continents. Beyond Asia and Europe, North America has six entries, South America three, and Africa and the Middle East two each. Nine restaurants are new, from nine different cities, ranging from Dubai and Giza to São Paulo and Seoul. The ranking is compiled from the votes of more than 1,100 international restaurant experts, including chefs, food writers and culinary specialists.

Rikki Tidball, Managing Director of Events for The 50, said: “This year’s extended list reflects the breadth and brilliance of global gastronomy, with restaurants spanning six continents and 25 territories. The extended list is an opportunity to celebrate the excellence we’ve seen this year, while also looking ahead to what’s next with more innovation and a new generation of chefs bringing fresh ideas to the table. We are delighted to welcome nine new restaurants to the 51-100 list for 2026 and congratulate all the restaurants on this achievement. We look forward to coming together to recognise and celebrate their success in Lima.”

How the list is compiled

The votes come from The 50 Best Restaurants Academy, which has a 50/50 gender balance, and at least 25 per cent of its members are refreshed each year. The Academy is divided into 28 regions, some spanning more than one country, territory or special administrative region. The 50 decides how the regions are divided in consultation with its global Chairs, and the divisions are debated and reassessed annually to represent the global restaurant scene as fairly as possible. Professional services firm Deloitte serves as the independent adjudication partner for the voting process.

The awards ceremony takes place at Teatro Municipal de Lima on the evening of Wednesday 4 November. It will be streamed live on The 50’s YouTube channel, with the livestream starting at 20:00 Lima time.
