Bali’s dining and drinking culture will welcome a new addition this September with the launch of the Bali Cocktail Exchange (BCX). Running from 12–17 September 2026, the event moves across Ubud, Seminyak, and Canggu, bringing together bartenders and professionals from Indonesia and abroad.

A First Taste of BCX
Founded by Jas Farras and Vandena Yanarta, the Bali Cocktail Exchange was created as a space for collaboration. Across six days, local and international bars will take part in guest shifts, masterclasses, brunches, and a cocktail dinner pairing. The program opens in Ubud on 12 September, moves to Seminyak on the 14th and 15th, and finishes in Canggu on the 16th and 17th with the Community Village at Regent Bali.
The line‑up features international names such as COA, Penicillin, Penrose, Alice Cheongdam, CMYK, G.O.D, Bar Us, Native, Hope & Sesame, and Union Trading Co. Jakarta venues including Modernhaus, Dualism, Osmo, Carrots, The Cocktail Club, and The St. Regis Bar Jakarta will also join. Bali’s own bars and restaurants — among them Ambar Ubud, Mei Mei, The Shady Pig, and Aoku — will host these visiting teams, creating opportunities for shared experiences across the island. A highlight of the week will be COA’s special cocktail dinner pairing at Origen, adding a distinctive showcase to the program.
The Community Village will welcome the public with tastings, flair demonstrations, and cultural performances such as Balinese dance and music. Local producers and hospitality brands will also be involved, presenting ingredients and traditions alongside contemporary cocktail culture.

A Platform for Exchange
BCX is organised by Yayasan Budaya Sajian Minuman Bali, a non‑profit foundation supporting the island’s hospitality community. The event is intended to grow into an annual platform for collaboration and education, strengthening ties between Bali and the international bar world while highlighting the island’s own identity.
“BCX is not only about bringing great bars to Bali. It is about creating genuine exchange — between international guests and local talent, between tradition and new ideas, and between the industry and the island that hosts us.” — Jas Farras and Vandena Yanarta
With its mix of guest shifts, shared meals, and cultural programming, the Bali Cocktail Exchange sets out to show how cocktails can be part of a broader conversation about food, community, and culture.
