The Opposites, newly ranked #80 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, is marking its anniversary with a month-long celebration that brings bold Asian flavours to the forefront of modern mixology. Until the end of August 2025, the bar will spotlight a special cocktail duo created in collaboration with global sauce and condiments brand Lee Kum Kee.

This limited-time offering builds on the success of Aperitivo Reimagined with Asian Flavours by Lee Kum Kee, a collaborative event held earlier this summer in Turin, Italy, during The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 festivities. As the Official Sauce and Condiment Partner of the event, Lee Kum Kee worked with top bartenders and chefs to explore how traditional Asian ingredients could inspire new culinary experiences. Among them were The Opposites’ Co-Founders Antonio Lai and Samuel Kwok, who crafted two inventive cocktails that now return to their home bar in Hong Kong.

Antonio Lai’s Summer Soystice is a refreshing cocktail that blends watermelon juice, caramel syrup, lemon juice, and tequila. Its standout feature is a house-made syrup infused with Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, which adds a savoury, umami depth to the drink. Samuel Kwok’s La Bonita offers a more bittersweet profile. It features dry vermouth infused with Lee Kum Kee Plum Sauce, combined with tequila, Campari, and orange bitters. The result is a sophisticated mix of sweetness, citrus, and spice.

Available exclusively at The Opposites throughout August, the cocktail showcase highlights how Asian flavours can be reimagined in the glass. By pairing Lee Kum Kee’s iconic sauces with premium spirits, the bar continues to explore the creative possibilities of cross-cultural mixology.
