Japanese cuisine has long held a place in the hearts—and kitchens—of Indonesian consumers, with dishes like Chicken Nanban becoming household favorites thanks to their light, flavorful, and practical appeal. Responding to this ongoing interest, ABC Cooking Studio has introduced a refreshed version of one of its most popular classes: Japanese Home Cooking.
The updated course highlights a broader and more regionally diverse range of home-style dishes from across Japan. Through a hands-on experience in ABC Cooking Studio’s warm and inviting kitchen space, members are invited to explore traditional Japanese cooking with a new lens.
Focus on Regional Authenticity
The revised program features a variety of new recipes, from classic izakaya-style snacks to complete teishoku (set meals). These dishes have been curated to reflect authentic regional tastes that may be lesser known among local audiences. The course continues to emphasize its easy-to-follow step-by-step guidance and direct instruction from experienced chefs.
More than just a cooking class, the program aims to offer deeper cultural insights through each dish. The studio’s home-style environment is designed to make members feel like they are cooking in their own kitchens.
Three Featured Menus
To mark the course refresh, ABC Cooking Studio is showcasing three special menus that represent the warmth and depth of Japanese home cooking:
-
Taste of Hokkaido
This menu combines Hokkaido’s comfort-driven cuisine in a set featuring Vegetable Soup Curry served with multigrain rice, Zangi (Hokkaido-style fried chicken), and a soft Mango Parfait dessert. -
Yogurt Marinated Karaage Duo Home Meal
Featuring two yogurt-marinated karaage varieties—Garlic Soy Sauce and Green Curry—this set also includes miso soup, multigrain rice, and a Kiwi Avocado Yogurt dessert. The marinade technique offers a juicier texture and richer flavor. -
ABC Izakaya Classics
Inspired by the casual atmosphere of Japanese gastropubs, this small plate-style menu includes Chicken Skewers, Tonpeiyaki, Ochazuke Onigiri, and Grilled Nagaimo, designed to be shared and enjoyed together.
Sally Sebrina, Country General Manager of ABC Cooking Studio Indonesia, stated, “At ABC Cooking Studio, we believe cooking is more than a skill—it’s a way to connect with culture, tradition, and loved ones. With this updated menu, we aim to deliver a richer and more memorable culinary journey for all our members.”
To celebrate the launch, ABC Cooking Studio is offering an Early Bird Special throughout April. Members can receive up to 15% off Cooking Course packages (6, 12, 24, and 36 sessions). Additional promotions include exclusive Japanese cooking tools for those who sign up during the promo period.
Each studio location will also host preview sessions, allowing prospective members to sample the new menu and experience the revamped class format. Attendees of these previews will receive an additional 20% discount if they register on-site.
The updated Japanese Home Cooking course is now available across all ABC Cooking Studio locations in Indonesia.
