From neighborhood cafés to premium dessert counters, refined pastries are becoming increasingly accessible—reflecting a growing demand and appreciation for pastry craftsmanship.

Recognizing this momentum and the need for a dedicated platform to support talent in the field, the Association of Culinary Professionals (ACP) Indonesia officially inaugurated the Indonesian Pastry Bakery Society (IPBS) at The St. Regis Jakarta on April 14, 2025. The formation of IPBS marks a new chapter in the development of Indonesia’s pastry and bakery industry, aiming to build a stronger community of professionals and prepare them for the global stage.

“We are committed to building a solid Indonesian pastry chef community and contributing to the development of international-standard skills and abilities,” said the IPBS team in a joint statement.

“Our mission is to provide positive benefits and improve the skills and knowledge of each member, while also playing an active role in advancing pastry and culinary education for the younger generation.”

Leading the organization is Louis Tanuhadi, who has been appointed President of IPBS for the 2025–2028 term. Louis is the Director and Executive Pastry Chef of APCA Indonesia and also serves as Education Coordinator for ACP. His leadership in various culinary associations, including his sponsorship role in Disciples Escoffier, underscores his longstanding commitment to culinary education.

Joining him as Vice President is Ardika Dwitama, Pastry Chef at August Jakarta, who began his career in Melbourne before rising to prominence in the local scene. Ardika was recently nominated as Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2024 by Tatler Asia, adding credibility and creative energy to the new society.

The IPBS committee brings together a diverse group of professionals—from pastry chefs and educators to business owners and content creators—each contributing their expertise to strengthen the industry. United by a shared commitment to mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth, the team includes Lalita Setiandi (LIT Bakehouse) as General Secretary, Diah Fitriana as Secretary, and Henny as Treasurer. Membership affairs are managed by Lulu Andini (Lady Eve Patisserie), while media and communication efforts are led by Nabila Yoestino (BIKO Group Indonesia). With education as one of IPBS’s core pillars, Savira Pradiati (YCCI Jakarta) and Arief M. Ikhsan lead initiatives focused on skill development and vocational training. The Events and Competition division is headed by Caesar Andry P (APCA Indonesia), and Kevin Krisna (FLOR Gunawarman) oversees General Affairs.

IPBS plans to engage with the wider culinary community through educational initiatives, mentorship programs, and competitions. The 2025 agenda includes an Interactive Learning Experience and a Pastry Competition Program, aimed at sharpening technical abilities, nurturing creativity, and encouraging young chefs to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.

By focusing on mentorship, education, and community-building, the organization aims to support the growing number of pastry professionals and empower the next generation of chefs. With long-term goals to elevate Indonesian talent and brands to a global stage, IPBS is setting a foundation for a more connected, skilled, and celebrated pastry and bakery industry.
