Penang Cocktail Week is back for its second edition this September, promising a larger and more vibrant celebration of mixology. The 8-day festival, scheduled from 1st to 8th September, will play host to over 80 guest bartenders from 17 cities around the world. The event lineup includes more than 60 cocktail and bartending events, ranging from bar takeovers and cocktail parties to masterclasses and hospitality seminars, set in various bars and hotels across the city of George Town, Penang.

Among the featured internationally renowned bars are Coa (Hong Kong), Jigger & Pony (Singapore), Maybe Sammy (Sydney), Vender (Taichung), and The Haflington (Hanoi), along with many other award-winning establishments from countries including Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

The festival this year aims to champion bar hospitality and promote a sustainable career in bartending through its new program, “Bar Banters.” This open forum seminar will feature key industry leaders discussing various topics such as health and wellbeing in the hospitality sector, the growth of the South East Asian cocktail industry, and crafting a cocktail career beyond bartending.

In addition to bar takeovers and guest bartending shifts, the event will feature the PCW Cocktail Garden, the Malaysian Invasion, the PCW Party Yacht, and the PCW Sunset Sessions, promising an exciting and diverse range of experiences for cocktail enthusiasts.

With over 20 bars participating in this year’s Penang Cocktail Week, the event aims to showcase the talent and vibrant bartending community in Penang, elevating the city’s profile in the global bar industry.
