The St. Regis Jakarta has launched a limited-time culinary collaboration with South Korean pastry chef Eunjung Cho, founder of Honeybee Seoul, presenting a Korean-inspired afternoon tea experience alongside a selection of contemporary desserts available from 19 June to 31 July 2026.

The collaboration is centred around A Tale of Three Heritages Afternoon Tea at The Drawing Room, where Chef Cho joins forces with The St. Regis Jakarta’s Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Lee to create a menu inspired by culinary influences from France, Korea, and Indonesia.

Recognised as one of Seoul’s leading pastry chefs, Chef Cho established Honeybee Seoul in 2013 and is credited with introducing Korea’s first Café Dessert Master Class. She is also the author of several pastry books, including Cookies, Café Dessert Masterclass, and The Seasons Dessert. In 2024, she expanded her portfolio with the launch of two new concepts, Ouch and Touch, further strengthening her presence within South Korea’s contemporary dessert scene.

A Meeting of Three Culinary Influences

At The Drawing Room, the afternoon tea programme combines Chef Kevin Lee’s French pastry background and Indonesian influences with Chef Cho’s interpretation of modern Korean desserts.

Presented as A Tale of Three Heritages, the menu aims to showcase how different culinary traditions can intersect through both savoury and sweet offerings. While the savoury selections draw inspiration from Chef Lee’s culinary roots, the dessert course reflects Chef Cho’s signature style, influenced by Seoul’s contemporary café culture and crafted using premium Valrhona chocolate.

The collaboration highlights the growing international interest in Korean café and dessert culture, which has gained recognition in recent years for its emphasis on aesthetics, technical precision, and modern reinterpretations of classic pastries.

Bringing Seoul’s Contemporary Dessert Culture to Jakarta

Beyond the afternoon tea experience, the collaboration extends to Rosé Gourmand Deli, where guests can explore A Slice of Seoul, a dessert showcase featuring some of Chef Cho’s signature creations.

Among the highlights is the chef’s well-known Bear Cake, a dessert that has become closely associated with Honeybee Seoul. The cake reflects Chef Cho’s approach to pastry-making, balancing meticulous technique with playful design elements that have helped define her work.

The dessert selection offers Jakarta diners a glimpse into contemporary Korean pastry trends, which continue to influence café menus and dessert concepts throughout Asia.

Available until 31 July, the collaboration marks a rare opportunity to experience Chef Eunjung Cho’s creations outside South Korea while exploring the intersection of Korean, French, and Indonesian culinary influences through a curated afternoon tea and dessert programme.
