After a stream of positive responses for its first branch in Semarang, now Mensa The Table has officially introduced its second outlet in Kemang, South Jakarta. With an elegant and classy interior that offers a chic and cozy feel, the restaurant has two main sections, namely non-smoking indoor and outdoor smoking areas. The indoor area provides various rooms that are tailored to your needs, starting from the main dining room, VIP room, and bar. All parts in the area also use the interior of high-specification luxury furniture. “All the furniture at MENSA uses the best quality from FORME – the leading interior company in Indonesia so that it gives a luxurious impression that adds comfort,” the Founder of Mensa The Table, Yani Susilowati, explained.
“In Mensa The Table, we present an Asian delights line-up in our menu, offering a new and exclusive dining and lounge bar experience through space and interior, ambiance, food and beverage, and entertainment. Here, food enthusiasts can enjoy a range of Asian flavors, from Vietnamese Pho Bo to Thai Fish Salad. We are also very proud of our innovative and creative mixologists who create classic craft cocktails, such as the Pisang Cokelat Negroni, which has a nostalgic yet modern taste,” she added.
Prioritizing high-quality food and experience for customers, Mensa The Table has many signature menu offerings with an artistic touch, making them suitable for various types of events, including romantic dinners, family gatherings, to private meetings. One of the special menus you can try this March is the Lemongrass Fried Duck, a fried duck cooked with spices and lemongrass, served with warm white rice, a special herbal vegetable salad, and mango sauce. Other main course menus, such as the Thai Fish Salad, are no less interesting, offering a combination of very crispy snapper fish and fresh Asian herbs made from local ingredients such as basil, mint, and coriander. Then, there is the best blend of Japanese and French cuisines with the Beef Teriyaki Truffle Pasta, highlighting the delicacy of wagyu beef slices, served with truffle cream fettuccine pasta.
Apart from the main course menu, Mensa The Table also provides a variety of appetizer menus like the Fried Salmon Dumplings, with its distinctive money-bag shape filled with salmon, which is widely known as a symbol of prosperity. Other appetizer dishes, such as Prawn Sate Lilit, which is a combination of Sate Lilit from Bali and Vietnamese Grilled Prawn Satay, also offer savory, sour, sweet, and fresh flavors in one bite.
Here, you can also savor a sweet ending by ordering one of their dessert menus, one of which is Matcha Chocolate Delight, a combination of matcha and dark chocolate cream that has a mousse-like texture. The other option is French Classics Creme Brulee, a balanced sweet and creamy dessert that blends vanilla custards with soft burnt caramel sugar.
The bar section of Mensa The Table also provides a wide selection of signature mocktails, such as the Chamomile Highball Mocktail, which contains chamomile tea, pina gum, lime, and soda. There is also the Berry Orange Tang Mocktail, a favorite in the Semarang outpost, containing blueberries, orange marmalade, lychee, and lemon with a refreshing citrus taste. For connoisseurs of cocktails, Mensa The Table also provides an exciting selection of cocktails, such as Pisang Chocolate Negroni, which combines Campari with Ambon banana and sweet vermouth with dark cacao. Additionally, the drink taste combines the best Indonesian “east indies” Gin which rests in an American oak barrel for 15 days before serving so as to produce a very rich, fruity, tart, silky taste.
Even though it has a lounge bar and band performances, Mensa The Table still wants to carry the concept of a relaxed and quiet dining and lounge bar. Expect an entertainment night, including live music performances every Friday and Saturday from 8 to 10 pm. “With the presence of Mensa The Table, we are optimistic that we can continue to drive our expansion for new branches in other cities,” concluded Yani.
