Penfolds is marking this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival with limited-edition gift packaging for two of its established wines, Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz and Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon. The special designs feature red and gold accents and are intended for festive gatherings, dinner occasions, and gifting.
The two wines can also be paired with a range of Asian dishes commonly served during the festival. The limited-edition packaging offers a seasonal presentation while retaining the original wines and their established styles.
Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz has been part of Penfolds’ portfolio since 1960, when Chief Winemaker Max Schubert created the wine. It is sometimes referred to as “Baby Grange” because some of its components are matured in barrels previously used for Grange from an earlier vintage.
The wine reflects Penfolds’ blending philosophy, combining Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz to create a profile marked by fresh fruit, firm tannins, and a smooth, velvety texture. Its structure and aging potential have also contributed to its long-standing reputation among Australian red wine collectors.
Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, meanwhile, was developed with the structure and winemaking techniques associated with Bin 707 in mind. The medium-bodied wine features red fruit flavors, subtle spice, and a balanced profile designed for approachable drinking.
Founded in 1844, Penfolds has built its reputation around blending wines from different vineyards and regions, alongside a portfolio that includes wines intended for long-term cellaring.
The limited-edition Bin 389 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz and Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon gift packaging is available in Indonesia through Red & White at Plaza Senayan and Vines at Plaza Indonesia.
