Padma Hotel Bandung reopens its doors on 1 July 2026, following a comprehensive renovation of the five-star property nestled in Ciumbuleuit, approximately 5.5 kilometres from the centre of Bandung. The transformation covers guest rooms, suites, recreational facilities, and — most significantly for the food-minded traveller — a substantially expanded dining program that introduces Italian cuisine, a new gelato and patisserie concept, and a refreshed take on the hotel’s signature afternoon tea.
A New Look
The physical overhaul touches most of the property. Guest rooms and suites have been redesigned for greater comfort and functionality, while the Heated Infinity Pool — one of Padma Bandung’s most recognisable features — now runs on a salt-chlorinated water system. A newly added Heated Family Pool with a water slide and an expanded Jacuzzi area round out the leisure upgrades, alongside a fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment and RFID-enabled smart lockers. The views across Ciumbuleuit’s green valley, however, remain unchanged — and remain the point.
Bandung’s Latest Dining Destination
The most substantive change on the food side is the introduction of Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner at The Restaurant, now led by Head Chef Renzky Kurniawan Saputra. The menu draws from both Northern and Southern Italian traditions — antipasti, house-made pasta in multiple shapes, artisan pizzas, and panozzi — with pasta and pizza dough prepared fresh daily. Premium fresh-cut and dry-aged beef selections are also on offer. Breakfast continues as before, with Indonesian favourites, Asian dishes, and international classics served against the hillside panorama.
The afternoon tea tradition returns as well, curated by Executive Pastry Chef Shopian Aziz Yogaswara. Tahu susu (fresh milk tofu), pisang goreng (banana fritters), traditional Indonesian cakes, and warm West Javanese beverages make up the spread — a ritual that has long been one of the hotel’s more characterful offerings and one that survives the renovation intact.
Goolali Gelato Bar & Patisserie
A new addition to the lobby is Goolali Gelato Bar & Patisserie, a concept already operating at Padma Hotel Semarang. The counter offers premium gelato, artisan pastries, and a selection of sweet and savoury items throughout the day — a lighter, more casual counterpoint to the dining room’s full Italian menu, and a useful option for guests who want something without committing to a sit-down meal.
Beyond the Plate
Champaca Terrace returns as the hotel’s signature outdoor event space, set above the valley with capacity for up to 300 guests — a venue used primarily for weddings and corporate gatherings. The Adventure Park has also been refreshed with basketball, archery, and trekking trails, and now includes a multifunctional area for team-building programmes.
