Park Hyatt Jakarta is set to open Li Lian on 19 October 2025, marking the hotel’s first Chinese restaurant and expanding its dining portfolio with a Cantonese-focused concept. Located on Level 19 of the hotel, the restaurant combines traditional Cantonese cooking with contemporary interiors and panoramic views overlooking Jakarta.
Named after the lotus flower, a symbol associated with purity, harmony, and family ties in Chinese culture, Li Lian is designed around the atmosphere of a multi-generational home. The space includes a verandah, tea bar, two living-room-style dining areas, and six private dining rooms intended for family gatherings and group dining occasions.
Cantonese Menu Led by Chef Tan Kwang Aik
The kitchen is led by Executive Chinese Chef Tan Kwang Aik, whose experience includes roles at luxury international hotels and Michelin-recognised Chinese restaurants. At Li Lian, his menu focuses on classic Cantonese dishes alongside contemporary interpretations using seasonal ingredients sourced both locally and internationally.
One of the restaurant’s central offerings is its Peking duck, prepared by Duck Specialties Chef Victor. The duck is roasted using rambutan wood, a technique that introduces a light smokiness while enhancing the richness and texture of the meat.
Other signature dishes include Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Tenderloin M8 with Yunnan trumpet mushrooms and asparagus in black pepper sauce, Smoked Marble Goby with Caramelized Soy Sauce, and Poached Tiger Grouper Fillet served with pickled cabbage, chili, tofu, and fish broth.
The dim sum programme is overseen by Dim Sum Master Chef Huang, who presents a curated Li Lian Signature Dim Sum Platter, while the restaurant’s tea bar offers a dedicated selection of fine teas designed to accompany the menu.
A New Chinese Dining Destination in Jakarta
Restaurant Manager Jerry Choo, who previously worked in Kuala Lumpur, described the concept as a space intended for both formal dining and everyday gatherings. “It feels warm, familiar and comforting, a place where guests can enjoy family dinners, gatherings, date nights or simply a good meal,” he said.
With the opening of Li Lian, Park Hyatt Jakarta adds a Cantonese restaurant to its growing culinary portfolio, combining traditional Chinese dining elements with modern hospitality and skyline views in Menteng.
