The 2025 World Barista Championship wrapped up in Milan with Jack Simpson of Australia earning the top title. Held during the final day of HostMilano, the event brought together 50 national champions for four days of competition, each showcasing their skills in front of an international panel of judges.

Jack stood out with a consistent performance across all rounds, especially in the espresso course where he achieved perfect scores. His final score placed him nearly 20 points ahead of Simon SunLei from China, who finished second. This marks Jack’s first world title, following his runner-up position in 2024, when he competed against Mikael Jasin of Indonesia.

This year’s finalists represented a wide range of countries, including Canada, Malaysia, Japan, and Denmark, each contributing to a diverse and well-rounded final stage.

Indonesia’s representative, Muhammad Aga, reached the semifinal round and placed seventh overall. Though he didn’t advance to the finals, his presence remained strong throughout the competition.

Organized by the Specialty Coffee Association, the World Barista Championship is held alongside HostMilano, a major coffee and hospitality expo in Italy. The next edition of the championship is set to take place in Panama City in 2026, continuing its tradition of celebrating coffee excellence around the world.
