From the 6th to the 11th of June InterContinental Danang will host a six day festival “Artisan Stories”. This six day festival will take place on the Bill Bensley designed retreat on the Son Tra peninsula as it brings together acclaimed chefs, guest mixologists, and live entertainment. The festival will focus on the collaboration between chef Christian Le Squer and Bill Bensley, Bensley “Bensley + Le Squer: The Art of Joie de Vivre” taking place within two night residency at La Maison 1888
On the 8th and 9th at La Maison 1888 chef Christian Le Squer will present his menu and the inspiration behind each dish. On the 10th and 11th, “Bensley + Le Squer: The Art of Joie de Vivre” will bring Bill Bensley into the spotlight as will unveil and interpret his artwork alongside chef Christian Le Squer’s cuisine.
The collaborative nature of the event also takes place in Tingara, the resorts modern Japanese restaurant. In “Culinary Constellations: Six Hands Dinner” Tingara will host other chefs such as Chef Loïc Portalier from Louise, Chef Cuong Nguyen from An’s Saigon and Chef Hoang Tung from T.U.N.G Dining as they work together with Tingara’s own culinary team. During the final day of the festival Chef Junichi Yoshida will bring Tingara to a more intimate focus with his Theatre led approach to Japanese dining.
Figures Behind The Festival
Chef Christian Le Squer shapes the festival as one of its most important contributors. As the head of the three Michellin starred restaurant at La Maison 1888 and a defining name in contemporary chef gastronomy. His philosophy of Joie de Vivre lends much to the festivals atmosphere.
Alongside chef Christian is architect and designer Bill Bensley who has shaped InterContinental Danang and plays a big part in Artisan Stories as well as he shows his painting and their interpretations live.
Chef Junichi Yoshida heads Tingara with his theatrical and precision lead moder Japanese dining. The rest of the event is rounded out by Loïc Portalier, Chef Cuong Nguyen, Chef Tung and mixologist Ohm Supapat.
