The Independence Day ceremony, or as we call it “upacara hari kemerdekaan” in the morning, is a ceremony many look forward to. With the country’s culture, the people typically continue to celebrate the fun day by having various contests and races, such as eating the traditional Indonesian crackers known as “kerupuk”.

Celebrating Indonesia's Independence Day
For two days only, starting from August 17th to August 18th, ACTA Brasserie is teaming up with Namelaka Patisserie for a special event: ACTA Tempoe Doeloe. From 2 to 5 PM, ACTA Brasserie invites guests for afternoon tea experience complete with curated tea selections, and an array of special treats. Those will be available for IDR 285.000 per set. Furthermore, don’t miss out on the exclusive cocktail and mocktail menu, available until August 31st.
Acasia Dine & Bar
For August 17th, Acasia Dining will have a special 17% discount for all menus for one day only. Acasia Dining also has a special August menu, available only on the month of August. It’s the Nasi Kemerdekaan, a combination of white rice and chicken or rendang, plus iced red bean. Prepare yourself and your loved ones for a spot reservation because there are only limited slots available.
Cork&Screw Country Club
Cork&Screw Country Club is bringing Central Sulawesi cuisine on Independence Day. Inspired by their trip to Sigi in the province, the Flavors of Sigi will be theme for Rasa & Bar Lokal by Cork&Screw Country Club. There will be a special set dinner exclusively featuring Sigi-native ingredients, age-old recipes, and traditional cooking will be available only on August 17th.
The Kaledo “Kaki Lembu Donggala” Bone Marrow, Biromaru Roasted Chicken, and Bebek Bambu are some of the Sigi palates that will be on the table. Celebrate the day with this dining experience starts from IDR 500.000 per person at 6 PM. On August 18th, guests are invited to indulge in A La Carte Sigi Specials & Cocktails from 4 PM.

If you’re looking for one month full of delightful dishes in honor of the Independence Day, get going to Gioi Jakarta. In honor of Indonesia’s Independence Day, Sudestada is hosting a special event featuring renowned Indonesian chef Fernando Sindu. With over 15 years of culinary experience, Fernando is a seasoned chef who graduated from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York. He has successfully established multiple restaurants in Indonesia and is currently executive chef at Cork & Screw, a prominent establishment within the Union Group.
Working with Sudestada’s executive chef, Victor Taborda, Chef Fernando will create a special menu combining Indonesian and Argentinian flavors. The notable menu will be available from 16-31 August 2023, with an exceptional Kambing Guling Platter and Kambing Guling Tacos offered only on the opening day.
