Indonesia Coffee Expo (ICX) Jakarta 2026 brought together more than 115 coffee brands and players across Indonesia’s coffee industry at Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) Senayan from September 4–6. The three-day event marked the final stop of the 2026 Indonesia Coffee Expo series, following editions in Surabaya and Medan.
Organised by Dyandra Promosindo with the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) and supported by PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN), the Jakarta edition brought together coffee farmers, brands, roasters, café operators, baristas, MSMEs, communities, and consumers. The event targeted 10,000 visitors and potential transactions of up to Rp4 billion.
The expo opened on September 4 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo, representatives of the central and Jakarta provincial governments, SCAI, BTN, Dyandra Promosindo, and PPKGBK.
Speaking at the opening, Pramono said Jakarta has a significant role in Indonesia’s coffee industry, noting that coffee-related businesses in the capital number nearly 193,000. He also expressed hopes for Jakarta to become a major hub for the country’s coffee industry.
The event reflected the broader growth of coffee consumption in Indonesia. Data cited by the organisers from the International Coffee Organization (ICO) showed that Indonesian coffee consumption increased by 50.02% over the past decade, while the number of cafés in the country has grown by around 16% annually. A 2026 Jakpat survey also found that 58% of respondents drink coffee at least once a day.
From Barista Competition to Coffee Lifestyle
One of the main programs at ICX Jakarta was the Indonesia Barista Championship (IBC) Region 1 Jakarta, which began on the first day of the expo. Eight competitors took part in the first round, with 15 competitors from coffee businesses across Indonesia participating throughout the competition.
The championship gave baristas a platform to demonstrate their technical skills and creativity, while allowing visitors to see the preparation and decision-making involved in competitive coffee-making.
Beyond the competition, ICX Jakarta featured programs designed to connect visitors directly with coffee brands and industry professionals. UNFILTERED Bars, for example, brought together coffee, brands, and public figures in an experiential area where visitors could interact with participants and sample their products.
The event also included Brew Talks and Brew Bars, offering discussions and interactive experiences around coffee throughout the three-day program.
