Indonesia Coffee Expo (ICX) Jakarta 2026 concluded its three-day run at Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) Senayan on September 6, with the final round of the Indonesia Barista Championship (IBC) Regional 1 Jakarta taking center stage alongside coffee programs and live entertainment.

The IBC final brought together six finalists who advanced from two preliminary rounds involving 15 competitors representing 12 coffee brands. The finalists were I Putu Yoko Permana of Anomali Coffee, independent competitor Michelle Chandra, Diazka Setya Prakasa of Toko Kopi Tuku, Aga Muhammad of Ahead Coffee and Roastery, Maximillian Periatna of Ratio Coffee Brewers, and Abednego Ivan Laoh of Makmur Jaya Coffee Roaster.

Each finalist presented a coffee preparation before the judges and a live audience, with the competition assessing both the drinks and the competitors’ presentation. SCAI Chairman Daryanto Witarsa said the final showed a different level of preparation and storytelling compared with the earlier rounds.

“Six finalists who took the stage today had gone through a rigorous selection, and what we saw was not only about taste, but also how they could tell a story through the coffee they served,” said Daryanto.

Beyond the competition, the final day featured Brew Talks by Arutala Coffee, titled “From Roastery to Market: Building a Coffee Brand that Consumers Choose.” The session discussed the process of developing a coffee brand from sourcing and roasting to building consumer trust.

Lounge by Santino also hosted a Brew Bars Takeover throughout the day, with baristas including Gede Toni, Claudio Gomez, Adam Iqbal Alfie, and I Putu Yoko Permana taking turns behind the bar. The sessions gave visitors an opportunity to watch coffee preparation and hear directly from the baristas about their featured drinks.

The event later moved to the IBC Stage for the Lucky Spender announcement by balé by BTN, followed by the Coffee Rave Party. The closing program featured Moluccan Soul performing songs from eastern Indonesia, bringing the three-day Jakarta edition to an end.

According to Dyandra Promosindo President Director Daswar Marpaung, the event brought together different parts of Indonesia’s coffee industry, from farmers and roasters to baristas, brands, communities, and consumers.

“From the enthusiasm of young baristas and local coffee brands to the response from visitors, it shows that Indonesia’s coffee industry continues to move forward,” said Daswar.

With the conclusion of ICX Jakarta, the 2026 Indonesia Coffee Expo series has now been held in three cities: Surabaya, Medan, and Jakarta.
