Located at Melasti Beach 88 in Ungasan, Hichori offers a distinctive dining experience where fire, technique, and oceanfront ambience come together.
Hichori takes its name from the fusion of “heat” and “chef,” a nod to both the teppan grill and the theatrical craftsmanship that defines the restaurant’s approach. At its center is the teppanyaki counter, a performance space where flame, movement, and sound create a multi-sensory experience. With open views of the Indian Ocean, the dining atmosphere is elevated by tropical elements and Japanese-inspired interiors.
Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Reyno Firmansyah, whose culinary background spans modern techniques and diverse global influences. At Hichori, Chef Reyno emphasizes performance-driven cooking, engaging guests through the visual and auditory elements of teppanyaki while delivering flavors rooted in balance and refinement.
“The teppanyaki counter becomes a stage where searing flames, knife artistry, and sizzling sounds combine to create an unforgettable dining experience,” states the release. Each dish is prepared in real-time before guests, reinforcing the connection between chef and diner.
The menu features a selection of premium ingredients with signature creations that highlight the duality of Japanese technique and bold flavor. A standout offering is the Southern Surf & Turf, combining 170g MB2 striploin with bamboo lobster, served with yakiniku sauce, sesame miso, and fresh lemon. Other selections range from refined small bites to indulgent mains, all curated to deliver depth and visual appeal.
