Hendrick’s Gin, in collaboration with three well-known Indonesian fashion designers, took center stage at the Plaza Indonesia Men’s Fashion Week by introducing a unique fusion of fashion and mixology from 2nd to 7th September 2024. The closing party on 7th September 2024 marked the culmination of this extraordinary collaboration, where the designers showcased their talent not only on the runway but also behind the bar, creating a truly intriguing experience. Rama Dauhan of Rama Dauhan Design Studio, Dana Maulana and Michael Simiadi of Danjyo Hiyoji, and Radhitio Anindhito and Andandika Surasetja of STUDIOMORAL, unveiled Indonesia-inspired cocktails featuring Hendrick’s Gin infused with their design philosophies and the vibrant flavors of Indonesia.
The designers skillfully incorporated Hendrick’s Original, along with the limited releases Flora Adora and Neptunia, creating unique cocktails that married the essence of their fashion collections with the distinctive infusion of rose and cucumber in Hendrick’s Gin. Rama Dauhan’s ‘Hangat Sentuhnya Martini’ delved into a blend of lemongrass, lychee, and chili, drawing inspiration from Hendrick’s Neptunia’s citrus finish and Scottish sea breeze. ‘LANANG’, crafted by Dana Maulana and Michael Simiadi, artfully mixed Hendrick’s Flora Adora with a medley of sweet, sour, and savory notes, complemented by a hint of butterfly pea tea and tonic water. Meanwhile, Radhitio Anindhito and Andandika Surasetja’s ‘Dasa Dharma’ brought together Hendrick’s Original with tangy tamarind and lime juice, paying a delicious tribute to Indonesia’s eclectic spirit.
Rama Dauhan, speaking of the collaboration, expressed, “Working with Hendrick’s Gin was an incredible experience. The Gin’s fresh herbal character allowed us to push the boundaries of traditional cocktails, creating something that truly represented the essence of our designs. It was more than mixing drinks; it was about creating a moment where fashion and taste collided most refreshingly.”
Adding an element of eccentricity, Hendrick’s also featured an interactive experience at the event, where guests could engage with a playful “Wall of Refreshment” and receive a refreshing Hendrick’s & Tonic by ringing a bell. This whimsical touch embodied the peculiar and disruptive spirit of Hendrick’s Gin, ensuring that every guest departed with a smile and a delightful drink, perfectly capping off the evening.
The event also unveiled the featured designers’ cocktail recipes, allowing attendees to recreate these inspired concoctions at their leisure. The recipes, complete with detailed ingredients and instructions, bring the essence of this unique collaboration to cocktail enthusiasts around the world, allowing them to savor a taste of Indonesia and high fashion in every sip.
