Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach has announced the appointment of Halil Asar as the new Director of Food & Beverage, marking a strategic leadership addition to the resort’s culinary team in the first quarter of 2025. With more than a decade of industry experience, Asar brings a diverse background shaped by roles as Restaurant General Manager, Sommelier, and most recently, Director of Food & Beverage at Delano Hotel Dubai.
Known for his depth of knowledge and leadership in hospitality, Asar has earned recognition across multiple regions. In 2009, he became the youngest Maître D’ and Sommelier at the three-Michelin-starred Restaurant Parkheuvel in Rotterdam. His accolades include “Sommelier of the Year” in 2014 from a prominent Middle Eastern award institution and the LQA Outstanding Employee Award, highlighting his commitment to service excellence. Most recently, he was named one of the “Hotel & Catering 40 F&B All-Stars” in 2023 during his tenure as Group Director of Operations at KATA, an acclaimed contemporary Japanese restaurant in Dubai.
Beyond his professional achievements, Asar is fluent in five languages—Dutch, French, Turkish, English, and German—reflecting his international outlook. His enthusiasm for gastronomy and culture also led him to author Gastheer & Sommelier Halil Asars Roadtrip, a culinary travelogue chronicling his food-focused journey through Europe.
