Beyond gastronomic offerings, FunNow will also offer a chance to give back to the community this year, with a portion of GastroMonth Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2024 proceeds donated to local organizations benefiting underprivileged children.
Now in its second year, FunNow Malaysia’s GastroMonth is a month-long annual culinary celebration. This year’s roster features over 20 MICHELIN Guide-recommended restaurants, including notable chefs such as Darren Teoh of Dewakan (two MICHELIN stars), Raymond Tham from Beta KL (one MICHELIN star), and Kim Hock Su from Restaurant au Jardin (one MICHELIN star).
Through GastroMonth 2024, diners will have the opportunity to taste specially developed, affordable lunch-tasting menus carefully curated by all 19 participating MICHELIN-recommended restaurants. From 3-course sets ranging between RM68 to RM128 per person to 5-course meals ranging between RM198 and RM 288 per person, these lunches will provide an affordable and exciting alternative for diners to explore these MICHELIN Guide-noted establishments in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
Unique to GastroMonth, FunNow is also proud to present a series of never-before-seen collaborative feasts featuring 20 chefs from restaurants recognized in the MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2024, all coming together to curate a multi-course menu to different dinner themes each weekend in June. This rare “Star Chef Collaboration” will only be held on 10 nights, offering a limited number of guests the exclusive chance to savor extraordinary dishes and witness one-of-a-kind culinary collaborations.
This year’s GastroMonth is made even more meaningful with FunNow’s commitment to donating part of the proceeds to several local organizations that focus on serving underprivileged children, including:
– Fugee School: Providing educational opportunities from kindergarten to lower secondary for refugees in Kuala Lumpur.
– Yayasan Chow Kit: This organization meets the needs of at-risk children and teenagers in the Chow Kit area of Kuala Lumpur through a 24-hour crisis and temporary center and safe homes.
– Yong Ai Orphanage: Provides care and support for underprivileged children.
