Jakarta’s diverse food scene welcomes a new addition: East Quarter, a Pan-Asian restaurant offering a unique culinary fusion experience. Opened in December 2023, it’s located on the Lower Ground (LG) East Mall of Grand Indonesia.
East Quarter’s concept revolves around combining familiar dishes from various Asian cuisines, creating innovative and flavorful offerings. The menu features a blend of comforting Indonesian classics alongside bold Korean flavors, elegant Japanese presentations, fresh Vietnamese spices, and the rich curries of Thailand. Influences from Peranakan cuisine and other Asian regions are also present.
Diners can explore a variety of dishes, including:
- Starters: Grilled Octopus with Gochujang glaze, Prawn and Chicken Dumplings, and more.
- Main Courses: Beef Tikka Lasagna with pickled red onion and Tikka Masala sauce, Signature Dry Ramen with smoked beef bacon, kimchi, and a shallot ginger oil, and other options.
- Sharing Plates: LA Galbi (grilled bone-in short ribs with banchan and dipping sauces), Shandong Roast Chicken, and Jimbaran Seafood Platter featuring honey-glazed prawns, clams, calamari, and grilled barramundi.
For dessert, both classic Indonesian sweets like Hitam Manis (black sticky rice cake with coconut mousse) and Bubur Sumsum Panacotta are available, alongside a Mochi Berry Watermelon Cheesecake for a modern twist.
“We believe everyone’s favorite Asian dishes can be elevated and combined to create unique flavors,” says Hartono Moe, Head of Marketing at East Quarter. “Our goal is to offer a distinctive dining experience with a focus on high-quality ingredients and innovative presentations.”
