On November 2nd, Volcán de mi Tierra threw a Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead party at Café Cali, Jakarta. The place was filled with vibrant decorations that set a warm vibe. With all the fun details and lively spirit, it feels like they transported everyone to the heart of Mexico’s Day of the Dead festivities, where the joy of remembrance mingled with the celebration of life.

SALA, the DJ crew from Jakarta, hit the stage with Tiko Aryawardhana and Devarra, bringing a fun and memorable vibe that blended their unique house music with a great community spirit. To add to the festivities, candles were lit in memory of loved ones who have passed away, and they shared “calaveritas”—playful, humorous verses about death that are traditionally part of Día de los Muertos. A skilled calligrapher created these “calaveritas” on paper featuring the Volcán logo, giving everyone a cool keepsake to take home.

They also provided a delightful tasting experience to savor the intricate flavors of Volcán’s tequila, from Blanco and Cristalino to the newly launched in Indonesia, Volcan X.A. We were guided through the rich history and meticulous production process of this premium spirit, enjoying the smoothness and unique character that make Volcán a standout choice for tequila lovers. Each sip revealed layers of complexity, from the earthy notes of the agave to the subtle hints of fruits and spices, making it a truly memorable experience.

Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the deceased loved ones. It is believed that spirits return to the world of the living during this time, families set up altars with photos, candles, Cempasúchil flowers, food, and mementos to welcome their spirits. A time to honor the ones that are no longer with us.
