Two renowned Indonesian designers, Rinaldy Yunardi and Nefianto Setiono, recently appointed as Artists-in-Residence for 2022-2023, lend their immeasurable artistry to transform the hotel into a gorgeous wonderland fitting for a wondrous Festival of Prosperity.
The founder of the famed Nefi Décor, social event, and wedding designer extraordinaire Nefianto Setiono has been tasked to make sure the hotel’s Lobby Level – including the artisanal cake shop – is going to be adorned with classy, colorful, and energetic decorations to welcome the coming of a prosperous Water-Rabbit Year. Meanwhile, the legendary Rinaldy Yunardi, arguably the current most prominent name in Indonesia’s fashion design world – whose works have been proudly donned by international megastars such as Lady Gaga, Madonna, Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, Nicki Minaj, Ayumi Hamasaki, Aaron Kwok, and many more – is creating a trilogy of limited-edition luxury gifts exclusively for the hotel called the Royale Hamper.
InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah’s tradition of unique gifts continues. Artist-inResidence Rinaldy Yunardi’s second edition of Royale Hampers – which was inspired by a majestic abstract painting that towers the hotel’s lobby, Haryanto ‘Bletuk’ Gunawan’s “Stand by Me” – features an iconic ruby and gold heart brooch wrapped in a bespoke red treasure chest of which the same painting masterpiece has also inspired timeless design.
Priced at IDR 5,988,000++, only 30 treasures chests will be available for this year’s Chinese New Year version that will also include delicious culinary treats such as pineapple crunch gold bar; diamond-shaped, orange-colored white chocolate; two types of gourmet cookies; two Mandarin oranges; orange pistachio cake; and InterContinental egg tart.
Furthermore, many other elegant hampers curated by the hotel’s award-winning F&B team and Indonesia pastry superstar Kim Pangestu are available at the hotel’s artisanal cake shop on the Lobby Level.
Chinese New Year is all about celebrating with your family and loved ones. And to make sure that their guests can have a memorable and prosperous lunar new year, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah has prepared a delicious Chinese New Year’s dinner buffet at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Sugar & Spice, on 20 and 21 January (from IDR 698,000++ per person).
The buffet will feature the award-winning restaurant’s favorite dishes and various traditional Chinese dishes. Think Lamian noodles, steamed lazy fish (soon hock), premium cereal lobsters, caramelized foie gras, and mouth-watering dishes featuring sea cucumber and salmon with XO sauce. An authentic version of Yee Sang prosperity salad would also be available as an additional order (from IDR 388,000++). The celebration continues the following day, on 22 January, with a high-end Chinese New Year’s brunch (from IDR 698,000++ per person).
In addition to the festive dining options, the hotel will also feature Guzheng performances on 20, 21, and 22 January, providing guests with a taste of traditional Chinese music and culture. Guests can also enjoy the excitement of Lion Dance performances to bring good luck and prosperity for the new lunar year on 21 and 22 January.
