Bakerman, the artisanal bakehouse concept by Artisan Kuliner Group, has introduced a limited-edition durian menu. The lineup centers on the Black Thorn Durian Matcha, a drink that pairs ceremonial Japanese matcha with Black Thorn, a Malaysian durian variety known for its rich and creamy character.
Recognising how popular matcha has become in Indonesia, Bakerman set out to offer a new interpretation of the drink. After experimenting with various flavour combinations, durian emerged as the pairing that worked best. Together, the earthy notes of matcha and the sweet, creamy richness of Black Thorn durian create a balanced flavour profile. It’s a combination that may seem unexpected at first, but that distinctiveness is exactly what makes it hard to find anywhere else.
Alongside the matcha drink, Bakerman is also introducing the Musang King Durian Croissant, which combines flaky, buttery pastry with the sweet, creamy character of Musang King durian. Completing the lineup is the Musang King Durian Soft Serve, a smooth and indulgent soft serve ice cream carrying the same Musang King flavour.
All durians used across the menu are naturally tree-dropped, sourced from Rimba Durian, a local supplier and grower of Musang King and Black Thorn durians in Indonesia.
Black Thorn Durian Matcha, Musang King Durian Croissant, and Musang King Durian Soft Serve are available from 2 July 2026 at all Bakerman outlets.
