At Alila Seminyak, the festive season unfolds through food — shared, savored, and served with a view of the Indian Ocean. The beachfront restaurant Seasalt sets the tone with a series of relaxed dining experiences, each one shaped by the rhythm of the waves and the flavors of the sea.
The celebrations begin early in the month with group dinners at Seasalt, available from December 1 to 23. These are designed for small gatherings, offering a festive menu that encourages sharing and conversation. The dishes reflect the restaurant’s signature style — seafood-forward, with Japanese touches and a focus on fresh, local ingredients.
On Christmas Eve, the day opens with the Seasalt Coastal Brunch, a generous spread accompanied by live music and a visit from Santa. As evening arrives, the kitchen presents a Christmas-themed set menu that draws from both land and sea. Guests can expect dishes that highlight Indonesian ingredients, with an à la carte option also available. Meanwhile, the Beach Bar hosts a Christmas Eve Party with a barbecue menu served from sunset into the night.
Christmas Day brings another round of brunch at Seasalt, this time with carolers and more live entertainment. The Beach Bar continues the celebration with grilled dishes and an ice cream corner by the shore. In the evening, the festive dinner returns with a choice between a set menu and à la carte selections.
New Year’s Eve is marked by a six-course dinner at Seasalt titled Rhythm & Reef. The menu begins with a Garden Bouquet paired with Packham Pear Chutney, followed by Kombu Hokkaido Scallop. The main course features Wagyu Beef and Lobster, served with Raclette Cheese and Wild Morel Mushrooms. A cheese course rounds out the meal, offering six artisanal varieties. After dinner, the celebration moves to the Beach Bar for a countdown party with live jazz, food stalls, cocktails, and fireworks. On January 1, guests are invited to return to the beach for the First Sunset of the Year, accompanied by live music and a calm close to the holiday season.
Beyond the meals, Alila Seminyak offers a few thoughtful ways to mark the season. In collaboration with Membumi, a women-led group from Binoh Village, the resort features handmade clay painting sets crafted from wild brown clay. These can be painted on-site or taken home as planters — a quiet nod to Bali’s natural textures and traditions.
For children and families, Play Alila runs daily workshops from December 22 to January 5, with activities like tree decorating, recycled crafts, and movie nights. For those seeking stillness, the resort offers morning yoga, breathing sessions, and sound baths. Spa Alila remains open throughout the season, offering treatments designed to restore calm as the year winds down.
At Alila Seminyak, the holidays are less about spectacle and more about slowing down — with good food, simple rituals, and time by the sea.
