Chinese New Year is often marked by gatherings around food and drink, where families share dishes that carry meaning and tradition. In 2026, the Year of the Horse brings a new flavor to the celebration as Hennessy introduces a collection that pairs its cognacs with festive dining. Alongside the familiar warmth of Chinese New Year dishes, the Maison highlights its Hennessy V.S.O.P and Hennessy X.O expressions in a special release designed to reflect the spirit of the horse.
The horse, long seen as a symbol of energy and freedom, is at the center of this year’s design. The bottles carry artwork in copper tones and mineral shades, set against a flowing red background. The image of a galloping horse suggests strength and movement, qualities that echo the optimism often associated with the lunar year.
Hennessy’s relationship with China stretches back more than a century. The first shipment of Old Pale Cognac arrived in 1859, and since then the Maison has marked important cultural moments through collaborations and commemorations. The arrival of Hennessy X.O in 1872, the docking of the “Spirit of Hennessy” in Shanghai in 1992, and the Silk Road journey in 2017 are among the milestones that show how the brand has engaged with Chinese traditions while presenting its own heritage.
For this year’s celebration, Hennessy is not only offering the limited editions but also creating an experience in Jakarta. The Festive Hosting Masterclass will be held at the Hennessy Boutique in Senayan City Mall until 8 February 2026. The sessions, led by Hennessy Brand Ambassador Chong Wai Keng and Mixologist & Moët Hennessy Indonesia Brand Advocate Rizky Ramdhani Razak, will guide guests through the pairing of four Hennessy V.S.O.P cocktails, from classic drinks to something new, with seasonal delicacies. The program also includes insights into the Maison’s history and practical ideas for preparing drinks at home to accompany Chinese New Year meals.
“The Year of the Horse represents energy, optimism, and forward momentum,” said Laura Drozdowski Lot, Marketing Director, Moet Hennessy Southeast Asia. “These values resonate strongly with Hennessy’s spirit and our deep-rooted connection with Chinese New Year celebrations. Through this collection, we celebrate a legacy shaped by shared cultural inspiration.”
With the new designs and the masterclass experience, Hennessy’s presence in Indonesia during the festive season is both culinary and cultural. It is an invitation to enjoy the flavors of the table while reflecting on traditions that continue to evolve with each passing year.
