The Westin Jakarta has introduced Tea & Toki Afternoon Tea by Henshin, a new afternoon tea programme inspired by Nikkei cuisine, combining Japanese techniques with Peruvian flavours. The experience is curated by Executive Pastry Chef Enggie Anggakusumah alongside Chef Akira Oshita of Henshin.

The menu is structured into three thematic stages, each reflecting a different aspect of the Nikkei dining philosophy. The experience begins with Wabi (侘寂), centred on simplicity, where savoury bites set the tone. Selections include Tuna Nikkei Tartlet, Huacatay Aioli Yuzu Ceviche Gunkan, Miso Anticucho Skewer, and Aji Amarillo Tamago Sando, combining Japanese precision with Peruvian seasoning.

The second stage, Asobi-gokoro (遊び心), introduces a more playful approach through pastry. Items such as Shiso and Quinoa Scones, Yuzu Castella, Maracuya Chirimoya Cheesecake, Sesame Éclair Black, and Matcha Panna Cotta highlight the use of both citrus-driven and earthy flavours, reflecting the cross-cultural identity of Nikkei desserts.

The experience concludes with Wa (和), focusing on balance and harmony. This final selection includes Matcha Ogura Moist Cake and a range of Nikkei pralines, such as Sweet Potato Dulce de Leche, Yuzu Green Tea, Wasabi Milk Chocolate, and Whisky Dark Chocolate.

The afternoon tea is paired with a selection of Japanese teas, including sencha, genmaicha, and emperor sencha. Guests may also opt for sake, with Hakutsuru Sayuri Nigori available as an additional pairing.

Tea & Toki Afternoon Tea is available daily from 12 PM to 5 PM at Daily Treats and Champagne Lounge, located on the hotel’s 52nd floor Sky Lobby.
