Continuing from Indonesia Dessert Week (IDW), they introduced the Golden Swirl Awards 2024 for the Jakarta Area to celebrate the best players in Jakarta's dessert scene.
In its inaugural year, the Golden Swirl Awards focuses on Jakarta’s Jakarta’s dessert scene, presenting 13 categories. Each category is carefully selected to showcase the diversity and richness of the dessert industry, from traditional Indonesian desserts to international dessert delights. The jury committees also include those who have expertise in the culinary scene. They consist of five IDW founders: Gupta Sitorus, Primo Rizky, Kevindra Soemantri, Talita Setyadi, and Tria Nuragustina, along with Yuda Bustara, Rinrin Marinka, Louis Tanuhadi, Ray Janson, and Teuku Andre Aziz.

– Dessert Experience of the Year – Jakarta: LIT Bakehouse
– Pastry Chef of the Year – Jakarta: Nabila Yoestino
With a focus on excellence in dessert making, the awards highlight imaginative, distinctive, innovative, and visually stunning creations. Each category has its unique judging weighting, but judges generally judge based on key criteria such as Presentation and Innovation, Taste and Texture, Quality and Technique, and Market Appeal.
“We aim to recognize not just delightful creations but also the dedication, innovation, and passion of the individuals behind them,” said Gupta Sitorus, one of the judges. Moreover, this Golden Swirl Award wants to symbolize excellence, inspiring chefs and industry players to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity and flavor.
