The end of October 2024 marks a new beginning for Expat. Roaster with a grand opening of their new spot in Surabaya - Dharmahusada. The outlet, which is said to be their biggest, features an interactive garden surrounding the store. These in-house gardens provide some ingredients for their food menu, offering you a sustainable and unique farm-to-table concept.

This 450 m² coffee shop and restaurant serves a range of premium beans, including Bali Kintamani and West Java, alongside their popular blends like Patria, Nomad, Habitat, Jozo, and Terra. “Our Dharmahusada store is special for us,” says Expat’s founder and CEO, Shae Macnamara. Roasters. “We’ve combined our passion for coffee with a deeper connection to the land. We want our customers to enjoy not only the best coffee but also food that’s locally sourced and fresh from our garden.”

Wilson Harkhono, Principal Architect at WHAstudio, is the man behind architecture design for Expat. Roaster Dharmahusada. The hydroponic garden and coffee farm that he integrated into the shop’s layout is a way to give the customer an experience of how coffee is made, from farm to cup.

Following the launch of Dharmahusada, Expat. Roasters will open a new store at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport in early November, with locations in Medan and Makassar to follow later this year.

The grand opening coincides with Incography, Expat.
